As mentioned the cat wont match up. I think you can buy a k-tec decat conversion pipe to use with the standard exhuast.

The back boxes are the exact same on the 172ph1 and 2. The centre sections are slightly different, the ph1 being about an inch longer.

Yeah it should be the same, especially as yours is a 2001. The exhaust from a 1.2 8v from the same year wont be the same, the 1.2 8v is the only Clio to have 1 silencer. Most clios have the same mounting points.

Theres a seller on ebay that sells the janspeed one (same as k-tec) for a bit cheaper. As said you will need a new gasket and fitting kit (not expensive from renault. The emissions light wont come on if its a 172mk1 as it only has 1 downstream sensor.

Yours should be 58mm, some early 1.2 8vs had 52mm. Your best to check beforehand.

The k-tec one is actually the exact same as the janspeed sports cat. Ive got it and cant complain, passes a mot no problems and fits perfectly.

I cant picture where abouts in the engine bay that is, but Ive never seen one leak that much like that.

The standard Renault one is now £180. The trouble with aftermarket ones is they never fit perfectly with a standard backbox and cat.

Im sure its at the top of the pedal, you have to take the lower dash off to see it properly.

Halfords sell special heat paints and sprays that can withstand upto 300degrees.

New engine time. It must have been fucked as the D7F is pretty much bullet proof. Luckily this engine is readily available from breakers.

Check all the buttons work on the little panel where the headlight adjustment and dash light adjustment is (or whatever is there on a 172mk2).

65hp is good for the D7F, they normally make about 58hp.

I take its the D7F (1.2 8V) engine?? Renault dont specify the correct readings, however if the readings go up after adding oil there is a problem somewhere? Piston rings or head gasket?

Yes you will. The black connector just clips off.

How much are you lowering it and how old is the car?

The tyres and brakes will wear out more quickly. You just need to remember to fill up with petrol and thats it. The engine is nothing to worry about as long as you let it warm up before the blast.

Check the radiator, mine has a minute hole and needs topping up every 6 weeks. You can see a mark on the radiator where the coolant has leaked.

The only bit on the drive shaft that can go wrong abs wise is the rings. Has it been diagnosed on the renault computer?
