Not sure about the dash but as for the light it sounds like the rear pins in the light cluster have corroded. Take the rear clusters out and inspect the electrical connections, its fairly common for moisture to get in there and cause problems.
Electric windows, electric mirrors, heated mirrors, 6 disk cd changer and tape player, aircon, cat1 alarm (if not an import), double optic lights, ABS.
I think most had the shift light and only the early titanium silver ones had aluminium bonnets, someone will correct me on that.
Also look...
A fiddle with the wires under the seat will cure the serv and airbag light (very common problem), it seems a very good price for the mileage. The cambelt should be changed every 72k and the accessory belt every 36k. I would advise to change them asap, most people change them around 60k. The...
Either will do really if you take it renault they would probably put 10w40 in it but for that little bit extra protection in the cold Id put 5w40 fully synthetic in it.
You were lucky with that one, in my experience Admiral always try it on with there stupid charges and last time I phoned them up the guy hardly spoke a word of English bless him.
The local garage probably doesnt realise how the belt on the 172 is hard to change. For a start its not just a case of changing the timing belt, its changing the belt, changing 3 rollers/tensioners changing the accessory belt and changing the accessory belt roller/tensioner. The timing belt kit...
Re: *Final Update*
lol typical renault, sounds like first of all the fitted the wrong lights to your car, then your dealor didnt bother to align your replacements.
Coincidently Ive found the 172mk1s have adjustable lights. They have a hidden metal leaver under the rubber cover behind the...
Does your car make a knocking noise at the rear, more so on bumpy corners?
Id get the cambelt done asap as your car will be 6 years old. If £550 includes the cambelt, accesory belt and all the rollers then its a good price for Renault.
The seller was probably right about the airbag light a little play under the seats cures this, make sure its got a service history and a cambelt change around 60-72k. Its normal for the idle to be lumpy but mine doesnt idle that low.
Funny you should say that Im sure ive seen this car posted on here before, what makes me think that is because it has a very unique steering wheel with a silver airbag sign, deffo seen that before. In the service book it looks like its been all over the place, manchester, milton keynes etc.
