I think they should be inspected at 36k but not due for change until 72k with the timing belt. Its always reccommended if the car has loads of stop start driving or a hard life to half the interval to 36k.
Its a very common thing for this to happen on mk2 Clios, Ive had 2 where this happens, its always about 60k miles that they seaze. As above, it can be a b**ch to free the shoe, some drums have holes so you can unscrew the shoe. While your at it, its best to change the cylinders aswel.
Yeah the servo is used with the dial in the car, you should be able to adjust how far the arm of the servo comes out (or in), so it will push the light up how far you want to. Connect the servo, adjust the dial in the car so its all the way up, then screw out the servo on that side to see if it...

First prize the mirror glass off carefully with a flat bladed screwdriver. Then you will see the clips, just release them and the cover will pop off. The mirror glass will just clip back on.
Yeah the 172 exclusive ones are silver as standard. Its easy enough to spray them. I think I have a part number somewhere for the silver ones if you want it?
There was a mk2ph1 on ebay not too long ago with the R5 conversion, maybe worth emailing the guy for advice.
