Its heat failure from close proximity to the main bulbs, i very much doubt the resistor has vibrated apart. LEDs in the right conditions will prob outlast the car. The only ones that last are these in the Clio headlight...

The OE one not only costs more than most but suffers normal Renault build quality, a bloke in a shed in wales could prob do better ;) TBH my prefered choice would be the Orbisound but that prob isnt cheaper than the Renault one and i have no idea what they sound like. Anyone in the south west...
