thing is, you could sell the clio and go and buy a sh*tburger car to knob about in, but the running costs will be far far higher than the relativley cheap to run clio. And, before you can say captain birdseye all youre money will have gone on high garage bills, sh*t fuel bills and the...
it depends on how critical you are - you will always be able to tell.
the best way is to have the panel completely painted - not just a local blended in. and even then there will always be a tell tale sign of the repair.
3 months old, induction kit, dodgy mods and 2.5 k
dunno but id rekon its been nailed from day one and not nicely run in!
plus it looks awful - what wrong with standard?
cold damp days - faster as intake air is more dense therefore better combustion
ever noticed that the car seems to run better at night? - again air temp.
hot dry days, funnily enough are the opposite of the above.
altitude too - air less dense the higher you go
mk 2s are the one to have. the mk1s aint really much faster than a 172.
seems a lot to compromise ie fuel, insurance and servicing to get a marginally quicker and far more expensive car - thats just my opinion though for what its worth - sure a lot of V6 owners would disagree
hmmmm shame mate. little bstards. - look on bright side though - when I had a car done once they damaged the door too - had to have it painted and looked sh*te too, so i sold it!
hope it gets sorted mate
is it using oil or leaking oil?
if it aint leaking then prob rings, valve stem oil seals or maybe head gasket - got any oil in water?
given the type of car, the age and the fact that they have a hard life then prob worn rings!
Mines a pearl black and is the first one Ive seen too! - its ironic - I really wanted a silver one ( the most popular ) and couldnt find the right one for love nor money!! Then along came the black one! - although rare I still want a silver one! Anyone fancy a swap?
I own a pearl black mk1 172 and wondering just how common this is - have owned a silver one and that seems the most popular
who owns what colour mk1?
anyone know the rough stats?
not sure really why there should be a difference in climate and aircon - climate is just a closed loop system where it cools and heats to maintain a given temp where aircon just keeps cooling till you switch it off.
Regardless of the operating system the components in either are the same.
hmmm me too, but no it was really tight - it didnt get to silly speed but a good thru the gears run from rest and they were neck n neck. probably down to my extreme skill and unmistakeable finesse.
I ve got the golf gt tdi too as my company car - superb!
Diesels are the way to go - but in your case why not stick with what you got - buying another will only cost you - ultimately you need to work out how much the car you have will depreciate with the anticipated milage addition over a...
they are all mint till you get there mate - judge the car at face value.
if its genuine - no paint or not too many marks, a uk model with fsh and low owners its worth it.
ive owned 2 mk1s and 1 mk2, imho the mk1 are better built and drive better and less problematic.
that said with all the...
