182 or 172

Thinking of gettin either one of these next year as ill be 20 and have 2 years no claims....could anyone give me any ideas on whats the best and what to look out for. Also what prices ill be looking at...good mileage, excellent condition etc etc

I would get a 172... the prices have come down so much recently that they are very affordable.

Mk1 172, 2001 Y plate 50k miles, approx £5500

Mk2 172, 2002 02 plate, 30k miles, approx £6500

They good mileages then? I dow really know the difference between the cars but does the 172 come with the new shape clear front lights?

Personally Id get a 172 or 172 Cup (if you fancy trackdays). Its done most of its price dropping!

If i was to get one in a years time would it still be pretty easy to get parts for and stuff? As ive been reading thyre going to stop making them the end of september?! Also anyone recommend any good insurance companies to get insured by because most quotes ive tried to get e.g greenlight have said ive got to be 21

Get a cup with AC. Youll love it and wont look back......Mk2s imo look much fresher and interior wise is much nicer looking.

Id be tempted by a £4.5~5k Mk1 172 or go the whole hog and but a Tropy. To be honest Im not 100% sure which way Id go but I think the Mk1 would win as Im cheap enough though a tropy wouldnt loose that much money if you get one cheap its still say £2.5k in a year the Mk1 would loose £1k.
