It's not overhanging the edge but is flush.
Everything else is centred:
Nothing to worry about? It just stood out like a sore thumb, made me wonder. The corrosion suggests it's been like that a while so maybe it's just the little nuances of each engine. Also was changed by rentech last...
Noticed in a multistorey car park today that at full lock left there is a grinding/knocking noise from the front end.
Hmmmm? Related or is everything rubber perishing in this cold.
Noticed the 182 has developed a nasty clunk/knocking noise.
Its intermittent though. To reproduce:
- 1st gear
- rev up to about 3500rpm
- take foot off throttle
As it jumps forward due to the cut in power there is a nice clunk noise from the front of the car.
Doesn't happen all the time...
Yup... I had the same problem. The upstream lambda adjusts fuelling when cold / up to 4000rpm so if it's fautly all manner of weird s**t starts happening. Mine was doing the same as yours, then flooding the engine causing it to nearly stall, then picking back up and backfiring massively. £60 and...
Are these good / crap?

or just stick with Standard Bosch...
Yeah I've got this to look forward to. My rear boxes are really rusty and the baffle in the left one has gone. Told it won't pass next MOT. £400 (or £498?) for the part. Ugh
I'd want to know what happened and see pics. But if it was like, a nasty scrape down the side that wrote it off... it'd be fine.
You buy it for less... and you sell it for less. So you're not getting it 'cheap' but it just means you can get a nicer car than you could afford otherwise.
My dad got his 08 GTi back from the dealers once with 3.8m and 14mpg average on the trip computer. Believe me, 14mpg is possible but you have to driving the f**king nuts off it.
He got the service free.
Did you complain about it?
I had this with my 2002 1.2.
The AA came out, tested where was getting power. He popped off the positive starter motor wire, cleaned the connector with wire wool. Put it back on and it started first time.
It can be the tiniest thing like that or something bigger. Checked the fuses?
When you...
Doesn't that mean its potentially running on 91k old oil and under-filled cause it's pissed a load out of the top?
Guess I'm changing it anyway so doesn't matter I guess.
Car has full service history with 91k miles. No gearbox oil change ever recorded.
Ordered some to arrive during the week but was bored so thought I'd do a dry run taking the airbox out etc. Just to kill some time.
Any idea where this lot has come from? It was mostly stained but looked wet in...
I had the same issue with problems only when cold and the acceleration being inverse to the amount of throttle applied.
If I could get it above 4000k or waited for it to warm up a bit it was fine. After a while it did it even when the engine was warm, but only for a short while then it drove...
