They cut out and make an unhappy crackling noise as the music gets through then cuts....gets through then cuts... If you turn the sound up it can push through it for a few moments... then it cuts out again. The right side is fine.
I am running the front components off a seperate Sony Amp. I...
This happens in my car too. It only does it from 2nd to 3rd when changing really fast but doent bother me that much unless its going to brake something further down the line. Is it a serious fault then? I orginaly thought the air filter was coughing due to high speed changes
You dont notice any difference _KDF? Thats good. Mine doesnt make much difference when on a motorway or crusing about etc but if you try and put your foot down its almost like turbo lag before the big power comes in. I suppose all engines are different though.
Anyone experienced this on the older 172s? After some heavy footed driving I have noticed that if I slow down (5-10miles per hour) or put it in reverse something under the car squeeks/creaks unhappily. A loud click can also be heard if I put my foot on the brakes in reverse. (dunno if this is...
Yeah mine is the same. I dont remeber it being so bad at 24K (when I bought it) but the previous driver was a young lady (my supervisor) that prob didnt rag it in the same way that I do.
My exhaust/gearbox makes a squeeking sound if you go slowly over bumps after a hard drive too. Havent...
I have just done exactly the same thing in 205/40/17s. My front TOYOs were worn so I put tmy back ones on the front (which still looked new!), and bought some Yoko AVS Sports for the rear. Cant really tell if they are any good or not as they are on the back but they look nice! (profile is...
I had mine serviced at 24K and they simply wrote K&N instead of checking the normal filter element - nobody at the garage mentioned anything about warranty (if it goes in under warranty just put the old filter back on!)
I have a RamAir induction kit and am well impressed - feels a bit more...
Hey guys,
I need to replace my tyres on the 172. The Toyo Proxes T1-S lasted me approx 6000miles which is poo but they are very good, grippy tyres.
Now,.....do I get 2 new proxes (found some for £97.99 each in 205/40/17s) +£5ea fitting
Or do I get 2 Yoko AVS Sport in the same size (£80...
That Quality speaks for itself one makes me giggle!!! Come on.... we cant try to pass any of our cars off as quality hehehe. They are cheap and go very fast!!!
An offence for handheld phone use is fair enough, but more or less everyone does/has done it at some point. If I am on the phone and am coming up to a round about or something I tell the person to hang on a min and negotiate it safely.
Is it different therefore to be smoking whilst driving, or...
I raced a CTR and I was gaining on him slowly no problem. We were both hammering it as we went from first gear off a roundabout along a sigle carriage way in Stevenage. I started off behind him and ended up beside him but I had to slow down and pull back in as there was traffic on the other side...
I must admit the picture that shows it moving from the side makes it look quite good. I hate Carzone bodykits though and the back is FCUK ugly......Still, At least its all the same colour. He must have spent a fair bit of money on it.
I cant believe that Paul, I was only chatting to you at Santa Pod the other week!! I must have missed the earlier thread but presume someone pulled out on you? Can you strip your seats/stereo/indicators/exhaust off before it gets towed away or will you have to start again?
Sorry to hear about...
My rover used to do that, sometimes if you left it it would rev all the way up to about 5K!! Never sorted it out- just asumed it was an ECU problem. Flogged it to Renault for a top price with absolutely fcuked suspension, 1 key and no stereo/speakers!
Bought a 1.2 16V which was much faster...
Does the temperature of the day make a great difference to Strip times or not? I only ask because my best time at Santa Pod was 15.7 but it was 29°C.
I expected better times but had quite good starts (0.6second reaction times)
I only have a RamAir induction kit but the car is by no means a...
Think it depends on where it was made. Mine was a German import and I got an alpine changer with the standard head unit. My previous 1.2 16V had a VDO changer
No problem. How far have you lowered it? I have ET38 4x100s with Toyo 205/40s dropped 30mm. No scrubbing at all, and thats on a 172 which is a bit lower anyway.
I think they look good sweetkidda, obviously not everyones taste but I think they suit the Clio better than most small hatchbacks because the boot slopes down from the roof. The spoiler is more or less in line with the top of the windscreen so doesnt look too much like a bolt on job (even though...
Mine are the other way round, getting better as they turn into slicks hehe!!
Yeah mine are nearly gone too. Only had them on for 6 months (dunno about mileage). Sourced a new pair for £70.99 each though so going to get them in months time
Very good tire though
You should be able to feel when the car stops pulling but continues to sound like its accelerating. On my car its about 6700rpm but the setup is obviously different. On a 1/4 mile though you tend to just rag it all the way to the limiter (I do anyway hehe) - even if you dont intend to
Cheers guys, Im glad you think it looks ok. It was a bit of a b!tch to fit; Not because of the drilling etc, just because I was scared silly of mounting it on the p!ss or finding out it was back to front when I put it all back together! Turned out ok in the end tho. You can open the boot fully...
The best kit I have ever seen for a Clio 2 is the prima racing trophy kit. I think some people from this website have got it on the other clios photo gallery.
Definately the best Ive seen. So much so I was nearly going to buy it for my 1.2 16V!!
I used ChipsAway and wasnt all that impressed to be honest. I asked him to sort all the stonechips on the plastic front bumper but he only succeeded in painting over them (not really making look as if they were never there). It looks marginally better than it did but not great. (still, was only...
