Its a 7mm allen key and the nut is a 22mm spanner. I know the feeling I took my alternator belt off on sat and looked everywhere for a 7mm allen key and ended up going to a bike shop as these were the only ones to stock that size.

Has anybody had this experience as a friend has just completed the conversion and was wondering if my valver was in for a beating, hes got a fairly good driving ability so we are fairly matched, so it all comes down to the cars He has put the 150bhp engine out of the Astra GSi Tony

BenR, Thanks, im getting so paranoid at the moment i havnt driven the car through fear that the belt will snap!

My Clio is on 69k and its time to consider changing the cambelt. I was thinking of having a go myself. Can anybody give some good advice on previous experences. Im not too bad at mechanics and have rebuilt a couple of engines but the Renault is something else. Many Thanks Tony

Did anybody go, some little sh*t nicked one of the centres off of my Valver, car just looks stupid now Saw a williams going up the strip although he did a 16.5 sec run. The best was a go-kart with a big engine on the back, did the 1/4 mile in 13.5 with a speed of over 100MPH.

Ive got a set in me valver, and im very pleased with the results.... Am running them off of a Kenwood 200 watt amp with Hiss pass filter at 80hz.

I had problems with my valver a few omnths back, It seems that the wires that went to the tempature fan switch (when ignition was on) were corroded and this was causing the fan not to work when the engine was running, turn it off and the fan kicked in, took me ages to work out !!
