Funny how people keep coming back to the clio, I got mine at the end of last year, and loving it, and before that I had a GTI Turbo, I loved the engine in that car, but when pushing on at the top of the revs it just felt lacking and flat, the clio is completely the opposite, the engine is just...
Yes, I'v reset the MPG which gives a high reading to begin with, something like 54Mpg, then goes down to 26Mpg, and then just stays there. actually there is one problem with the car, but the ECU is not picking up any faults, sometimes it does not start first time when the engine is hot, but I'm...
Not to sure what to make of this, every time I look at my milage MPG, it keeps saying 26Mpg everywhere, that could be fast driving, motorway, or just in and out of town. I have scanned the car for any faults, and there are none coming back, and if i'm honest the car is running fine, but...
At £20 a wheel I would find it hard to see any profit in it at all, plus powder coating alloys wheels is never a good idea due to the heat weakening or making the alloy brittle.
I was just thinking to myself, what if they where meant to be fitted a specific way around, left to left, and right to right side of the car. I have to mush time on my hands at the moment, haha
If i'm honest DC2500 are great for fast road use, but I would not use them on a track, if pushing hard all day long, and Ferado do say this on there website, DC3000 are what you need, I have had great performance from them over the years.
Had a leaking front shock, and was getting just a little over steer when committing into corners at speed, which was interesting to say the least, had to changed the suspension to Cup Setup and replaced the Back brake pads. MOT said Dangerous to drive, hahaha.
Normal, the rear pads do not do mush work to stop the car, and putting DS2500 on the back would be a waste. But if you have upgraded the back calipares, then it might be worth the upgrade.
Quick Question?
So on my car at the moment I have Eibach Sportline lowering springs, would I need to use a spring compressor to get these springs off the shocks?
What about 172 Cup Suspension, I have been offered a pear from a member on here. I did a bit of research and From my understanding they should be a straight swap over.
Quick question, will 2005 Clio 182 Cup front suspension fit a Clio 172 Ph2 2001, or will I have problems. My Near Side front Suspension Strut is leaking, and I have my MOT soon.
Quick question, can I fit 2005 Clio 182 Cup front suspension to a Clio 172 Ph2 2001, or will I have problems. My Near Side front Suspension Strut is leaking, and I have my MOT soon.
I got a MaxiScan MS509, great peace of kit for just getting fault codes and resetting the ECU, only cost me £40, and payed for itself first time out of the box, sense then I have used it a couple of times now with Injector problems, it found the fault code, and gave me simple advice, like what...
I forgot to say, things I don't like so far is the steering wheel is just to big for the car, and the brakes could do with upgraded lines, lucky for me there where almost new, Ferodo brake pads, and Brembo disks, put on the car when I brought it.
I now fully understand why there is such a following for these cars, I have had my Clio 172 for a couple of months, but just have not found the time to take the clio for a proper drive and get to grips with what it can do, and I also had a couple of problems with the injectors, 1 went bad, then...
Well this is getting really fun, my third injector went last night and I have just about had it with injector and this car so I am going to change the last 2 and hopefully get this problem sorted once and for all. I did say to myself, it might be a good idea just to change all of them, wish I...
Bloody hilarious, When I took mine off Renault did not bother to spray the complete underside of the bonnet, so on parts there is just primer showing through, classy build quality on these cars..
Injector Injector Injector, the car has already eating one, and another one went on friday night which left me in limp mode all the way home, apart from that I cannot complain mush. Last week the CV boot went, And I did the easy fix and brought a Sticky Boot, which to my surprise worked great...
Hi
Can anyone here tell what the longevity of Injectors are on a Clio Ph2 172, my car has just clocked over 110K miles and I seem to have a misfire again on cylinder 2 which is looking like a failed Injector, do injectors using fail after 100K on these cars. But this might also explain my poor...
I have just been reading up on your Clio Rally thread, and this Rally stage looked amazing to drive, just so fast and winding small lanes, the Clio looked well suited to it. Great driving, shame about that bloody wall.
Love the car mate, and very impressed with the modification you have done so far, quick question, why did you decide on removing the ITB, and are you going back to use the standard intake manifold?
Just been going Through your complete build thread these last couple of days and your car is excellent mate, love the attention to detail you have put into the clio, I only which I could afford a throttle body upgrade like the one you have on your Clio, top work.
