Nope, still running original wheels and got good quality tyres all around - Conti sport contacts...front are brand new and back are 4 months old!
Doing my head in though...guess i'll just have to avoid motorways (shame)
Had a wicked drive on the back roads home last night though...I love the...
As above, get a real noticable vibration through the steering wheel at about 80mph so had my balancing and tracking checked - 2 of the wheels has no weights at all and the tracking was 7 degrees out...got it sorted but it's still vibrating like a w*ore at 80...any ideas?
Thought it might be...
Yup, definitely how mine is...been told by mates that it's just because it's on low profile tyres and it's got hard suspension?!
Also seem to have lots of bounce when I go over certain bumps but sure my shocks aren't f***ed...sh***y vibration through the wheel at about 80mph too!
God help me...
Yeah, i've really been thinking my suspension or something's f**ked lately...really feel every bump in the road and it sounds quite 'crashy' is the only way I can describe it really...is this what everyones is like?
Mines on standard shocks/springs, blah blah blah...
Yup, it's your climate control sensor fan or something like that...pretty much everyone has it mate...can get it replaced but there's a much easier and cheaper way of solving the problem...
...Turn the music up!!!
That is super cheap mate, definitely check they have the right belt, tensioners, pullys, etc...i'm sure the genuine renault part is £120ish on it's own!
Yeah, and what Yozza said about the tools, the guy who did mine said that he didn't need 'em...then had to go out and buy them when he...
Isn't that always the way...said yesterday I never see any RS's in colchester and this morning I saw a Black MKII 172, a blue 182 (zagnotti i think, the one with the stripes?) and a silver MKII 172...
Unfortunately I was too busy concentrating on the s**t drivers that seem to come out in their...
Cheers mate,
Could be the tappy sort of noise I suppose coz I do have a strange noise coming from the drivers side of the engine bay...not constant though, kind of intermittant, how can I get a look at the pump?...THERE'S NO ROOM IN THE F*****G ENGINE BAY GODAMMIT!!!
Any ideas anyone?...does it make any 'special' kind of noise or anything?
Had my Aux belt and Cambelt done recently so i'm looking for something new to worry about!
Oh yeah and can anyone tell me if the timing belt is a separate entity to the aux belt etc...How many belts are there on these...
Something to do with the exhaust mate, had the same thing in mine...then my exhaust fell apart so I got it replaced with an aftermarket jobbie...problem solved. ;)
Just had mine done and apparently it's a complete c**t of a job mate, unless its not got aircon and then I think it's supposed to be quite a bit easier but i'm assuming yours is ff...
The mechanic I took mine to said "nah, don't need special tools mate, got these universal ones that'll do the...
Had a powerflow cat back 'stealth' exhaust fitted a couple of weeks ago coz at the time I just needed one because my back box decided to drop off a week after buying the car...just needed something cheap coz I was poor.
Wasn't amazingly happy with it at the time as you can see a fair bit of the...
...I absolutely LOVE my 172!
Even with all the niggley little problems that i'm going through with my car at the moment, it's the times where I take it out and give it a damn good pasting through the 'twisties' where I really appreciate what a fantastic little car it is.
Yes I know there's...
Totally valid point there...
Also, there would be absolutely no point in having a 172 if you're not gonna take it above 4000rpm...5000 is where the fun starts!!!!
Go on, just get one...you would not be disappointed...seriously...plus if you get a nice one (only talking about £5-5.5k)...
Nice one mate, sound tres complicated...do you think that if I randomly smacked the engine around with a large hammer it would sort it out?! ;)
Anyone want to buy an immaculate condition MKII flame red 172...48k?! :quiet:
I have to agree with most on here mate that it's not my cup of tea...However, you can definitely see that you've spent alot of money on it and I have to say that although I just couldn't do it to my car (attention would do my nut in and I love it as is!) the paint job is the shizzle dizzle...
Right,
My MKII 172 idles at about 500rpm and has done since I bought it...then the other day I started it in the morning from cold and it was fine (revs were high until it warmed up, etc...as it always has done) - Didn't drive it all day and got in it to go home after work...started and the...
