oh, well fair enuff then, just thought that there was a thread ages ago about it should being lower, and my old valver, was way lower in all respects. surprising the difference between cars i suppose
another little query.
cars just one thru MOT, changed back to a de-cat pipe, and just noticed that the exhaust vapour is really wet, so wet infact leaving your hand there gets soaked, and the exhaust has a little hole designed for getting rid of it, and its dribbling everywhere, no diff cold...
ok ppl,
ive just changed my oil, and changed the filter too, what a mission !! even harder that my old clio ! same bloody car
anyway, the oil pressure is still really high IMO. it starts off about 4ish, if i rev up it moves right up to 5 1/2 - 6. when warm it drops to about 1, but still can...
hmm bugga, my car is going in tomorrow for a mot, and its got a decat om it, ive got the cat, but it wont be on for the mot, i was kinda hoping against hope that the emissions would be fine
wonder if its too cheeky to ask the garage to put the cat back on and retest :)

argh, i really want a turbo conversion, but even IF i could afford it, and IF my car was up to it, id never be able to afford the insurance hike. ive only being driving 8 months, waiting for the insurance to drop i think it going to be the biggest problem i face

yeah, im gonna look into it
i basically wanted to get ppls opinions if it was worth doing to a high milage car, as in with a bit more work, can it be reconditioned to give enuff peace of mind with mods on top.

ppl,
My clio is now on 91k. If i did want to do some work on it to increase power (cams, chip, turbo(i wish)) then i presume a rebuild would have to be done first to make sure it could take the extra pressure.
anyone know how much that would cost ? or what parts do wear that would need to...

ill have to check that, as sometimes i cannot for the life of me get into 2nd gear, have to go to 3rd / 1st with the clutch in then move back to 2nd. someone told me that this has happened to him in a 21 when water got in the gearbox, and recommended a oil change, anyone else got this or similar ?

my level gauge doesnt work now but the rest do, apparently the level gauge is attached to the circuit board itself, the other 2 just plug in, was quoted about 100 quid for a new level gauge and board if i remember rightly
take it apart put it back together works for a while, pesky loose connections

mat,
is ures a orig 1.8 with a 2l lump in it with cams etc .. ?
does anyone here actually have a williams with chip cams etc ... ? would have thought that would be quicker, but dosent seem that anyone has done work to a willy
DazzF,
what were u driving at the time then ? surely not a standard willy ?
so ppl reckon the 172 is fine for it, what about a williams ?
std vs std, think the willy could hack it ?
i would have thoguht that the vr6, although heavier should be quicker than a williams, the torque...

anyone had a go with one of these ?
with about 170ish bhp and torque would have thought they would be an interesting challenge, although they are 200kgs heavier that a 16v or a williams
anyone wanna give a opinion on em ?
