Just had a set of 4 Paradas fitted on my 15" track wheels as my old Advans were trashed. I hear the Paradas are good grip in the dry but resort to Ditchfinders in the wet! True?
£210 was the fitted price, can't afford Advans any more.
Like any other splitter,it's 29mm deep. more flexible than the originals so wo'nt split if you catch a kerb. At £13 odd it's a bargain. Easy to fit and trim of the ends cleanly.
3 door cars and installing junior in the rear is back breaking work. Better to have a rear facing babyseat in the front passenger seat. Don't forget to turn off the airbag.
All the items you have listed as a fail are normal for a Cup that has not been looked after. The rear brake issue does not mean you can mention the VOSA tester notes and they pass them automatically, therear brakes still have to work reasonably and evenly. It's not the end of the world fixing...
I would say you need the alignment done as you have changed the ball joints. As for the knocks , narrow it down to the front or back of the car. If the rear knocks the usual suspect is the rear shocks or the front can be many things.
As for the other parts you renewed, well done for doing it...
Some wheel refurbers can straighten them but it will cost about the same as buying new ones. It may be just the tyre that is not fitted straight, you can take the suspect wheel to a any tyre fitter to be balanced and he will soon see if the wheel itself is warped. Should cost about £2.50 per...
You don't have to remove the ABS rings on the Cup. I fitted the INgersoll ones from GSF, they come with the bearings fitted and are cheap and work well enough.
I'll have to agree with Danny, DS pads are wooden until they get really hot. Unless you are doing trackdays regularly then OE, Mintex or Pagid pads are the ones to have.
Lowering/stiffening and adding negative camber does make the car susceptable to uneven/bumpy roads, how much neg camber is it set at? Having larger than standard wheels will add to the problem if you have them. All these tweaks do have a downside.
With the very dry weather the suspension can get squeaky, is it quiet when driving in the rain? With so many metal against rubber parts on a car it's hard to pinpoint the cause. To eliminate the aux belt and pulleys spray them with WD40 and see if it goes quiet, the WD40 will burn off in a...
Only Cups come in Mondial Blue. £2.5k. will buy you a reasonable one needing a couple of things doing, usually the belts. There are a few for sale out there, it takes time, travelling and patience finding the best for your budget.
Fairy Liquid worked for me. It just takes time, take the bottle off half fill with detergent and rice, sit in garden getting a tan and shake as long as you can, the more effort you put into it the cleaner it will be.
