noooooo! car wont set on fire mate - this may sound really stupid but bare with me - if my car is unlocked for more than five mins and the engine isnt turned on, i have to lock and unlock the car again before the immobiliser will let the engine start. My alarm isnt standard tho and it came as a...
Uno - great car - had one for a bit until i bent a valve on it - loved the thing, nice and quick too - unfortunately not the prettiest of cars and it will rust around you after one downpoor!!!!
wouldnt even start if ure belt was snapped mate! U could have a fuel pressure problem then mate - or u may have been rite - it could just be ure immobiliser - did the little box with a zig zag line come on when it stopped?
Right, it could be a number of things - some worse than others. My car does EXACTLY THE SAME THING
1)it could be that your cam belt has snapped and so the engine wont start - thats what happened with mine. You will then need to replace the head which is a job and a half unless you get some...
Gotta find the hole first!!!!!!! - it would just cut out every time i put me foot on the clutch to change gear - is that an automatic thing with valvas - just topped it up with water and it all dissapered within a min or so, so had to top it up again? is that coz its circulating back into the...
Problem number 9999999999999 My car just seized coz there is a leak in one of my water hoses and the engine over heated due to the lack of water - just managed to limp back to work - is it just a matter of filling it back up and trying to find the leak when i get home? help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn...
Yep, happens with mine too - definatelly just the radiator - had a chck for leaks and couldnt find anything + it usually stops after 5 mins. Shouldnt be a prob.
Just did mine mate - the haynes manual does make it look like a real arse to do but it really isnt that hard - i hadnt ever done anything like it either but managed it and now have a new head etc! Seriously go for it like everyone says - its worth the effort! One garge wanted to charge me a...
Hi guys, have got a recon head on me car and so have the old one to sell. It may still work, didnt check wether the cam belt faliure did much damage - just got a new head! It looks to be in good nick and its good for spares.

Thanks for all ure help wit me valva guys - its finally runnin - sweet as a nut mate sweet as a nut!! Turns out my dad hadnt worked out how to turn the bloody immobiliser off!!!;) Tom
Wot - just keep trying to start the engine? it did this before coz ive just finished putting a new head on my car etc and it took a while for the engine to get compression and start - three days to be precise
Guys, just spoke to me dad you just disconnected a fuel line in me clio so that he could get to a torx bolt. Put it back in and the car wont bloody start - sound usual?
I literally have just finished doing exactly the same thing with my car - new head etc and mine makes exactly the same noise- it does quieten down tho after a while - definately the tappets. Plenty of oil and gettin it nice and warm does the trick - kinda sounded like a bloody diesel when i...
Its not been used too much then - but anything can make ure cambelt go - especially on clios- they are renowned. Make sure your alternator belt is in good nick and that your fuel pump isnt f*cked - if it isnt pushing enough fuel into the engine (hence the stopage at low speed) then that could...
Hi Guys, car finally started last night after its head transplant! However - i didnt manage to get the heat sheild back on that i believe was protecting some electrics just bellow the exhaust manifold - does anyone know where its supposed to go? - got a pic? coz i cant put it back now ive taken...
Thats strange - i havent got a factory fit immy but when mine cut out my immobiliser did automatically switch itself on. It could simply be your belts slipping - how many miles has it done? I paid little attention to the prob at first and then my cam belt snapped and i needed to fit a new head...
My valva used to do exactly the same thing mate - just as you come to a stop the engine dies and u need to fire it up again - i thought it was my immobiliser to be honest but when i changed the belt and the cam belt it did nothing since - not saying this is ure prob but ive been there!

Mine did something very similar mate - it used to cut out alltogether for some reason and then just need starting back up again instantly -turned out my prob was that my cam belt was slipping slightly so had to have it replaced - just an idea but it does sound like mine
