Exclusive

  Mk1 1.2 & Mk1 172
I have just bought number 77 of the Clio 172 Exclusives.

Exclusive2.gif

Mods so far are:
1. 16" Rota Track R

light weight race spec alloys
trackr_gm.gif

2. K-Tec Racing recessed stainless steel exhaust
Exclusive3.gif

3. Group N ECU remap

4. Upgraded front speakers - Infinities

5. Being professionally valeted on Tuesday morning.

I bought it from Cliosport member RedorDead - Shaun - if ever this guy is selling anything, he can be relied upon. I had not seen the car until I went to Bristol to pick it up yesterday (250miles) and everything he had told me was spot on and nothing omitted. Total honesty.

I am sure he was sorry to see her go, but I am going to cherish this wonderful car. I feel at home again now, back in a Clio Sport...

Very nice, love those wheels, matches that colour perfectly. How does acceleration compare to the standard BBS wheels?

  Mk1 1.2 & Mk1 172
Yes, it was in Redline earlier this year.
The previous owner put the wheels on. I think they're nicer than the standard ones. Can't comment on performance changes from putting wheels on as didn't do it myself.
No plans to lower/colour code etc. May fit Ecotek valve (awaits being bombarded with insults - but sits smugly in the knowledge they do work).
The last car I had was a 323i coupe, and before that an Escort GTi replica, and before that a 53 plate Cup with various modifications. The Exclusive is quicker than the Cup.

You think ecotek valves are going to work on your 172? Really Really Don't bother.

The cars are nice enough, i think the interior is the only bit i aint to keen on, them wheels want getting sacking off for the originals!

Rare, prefer the standard fit BBS wheels though, looks well cared for, if this was the one in Bristol (which it must be with those wheels) I believe the previous owner wrote for Redline and is a member on here.

Don't weigh it down with speakers!!! The red line is at 8000 ish I believe. The performance is wonderful. As for the wheels - well that is down to taste. I think the standard ones are vile. But if interested, seller of car to me is selling full set of standard wheels all with new tyres.
As for the person that said "no" to Ecotek, I had one on my 1.2 Dynamique and it made a good difference. I then put one on my 53 172 Cup that I used to own and it made a difference on there too, smoother through the mid range and better on fuel. I have had one on every car since, apart from the BMW I have just sold.

The redline will be at 7k or something like that, not 8k.

As for the ecotek valve things, they are generally regarded as a waste of time, you need to run other mods to get any real difference with them.

I'm afraid - from experience - you are wrong on that one. If fitted properly you don't need any other mods.

My correction, the Redline is at 7,800.

wickedbitch

Did you take ur car to top gear on saturday for a winter check it looks familiar?

Sorry you discredit yourself IMO by claiming ecotek's are worthwhile.

Should put, before you try to counter my argument. I have had one and a guy at work had one.

Both different cars, both gash. Enough for me to confirm they are gash.

Have a read of people views of the ecotek valves on here, they aren't worth it at all. I have a few mates who have had them too & they said the same.

Also your redline will not be 7,800 unless you've had it raised.

that is correct.... Although saying that, reading his post it says it has a Group N ecu lol
And ecotek's are absoloute pap... the kinda thing 17 year olds put on their escorts...

exclusive looks tidy.
what is the difference between them and standard ph1 172 other than colour.

hi mate
they only made 172
the limited paint scarab green which looks ace in the light
full grey/dune leather allthough i do look the original 172 seats alot as well
the alloy wheels
and i think it comes with every optinal extra you could get for the 172 (i may be wrong on this)

i think these are the main ones

very nice cars

i can also recomend harleys carunaba wax for dark cars like this green it brings it out very good indeed

i wouldnt worry with that ecotek valve on the sport surely it wont make any difference at all??if it does it would surely be minimal?? id just stick with the group n remap you have :) that sounds pretty good anyways;-)

nice example mate when did you sell it?? is it still on the road??

:)

just got back from a spin in mine i loooovve it so much

  V6 255, 172's, JCW,
Thanks bud! Sold it just over 3'5 years ago now... I part ex'd it for my the 182 i used to have. It was certainly still about 8 months ago.. as it turned up on the fore court of a local independant dealer..! Didnt look as good as it did in the pics there tho. I'm led to beleive some woman had it after me.. she clearly didnt appreciate having a nice car.. boooo.

I'd like to get another one sometime.. lovely cars..

  CLIO 172 EXCLUSIVE
Funnily enough i have No. 40. Standard but for stealth exhaust and K&N. Just used the RStuner with group N map and love it even more, power delivery is much better. Might add decat but have kept everything so i can put it back to standard if i fancy it. Lucky enough just to have it as a toy really, not my main car so plan to keep it for a while and see how the values go.
