My car is a third car and due to these problems seeing even less use. I had a problem where occasionally the starter would not fire. It was sporadic but very annoying. Sometime I would be stranded waiting for AA then the car would just start.
I had battery replaced by AA for a new unit...
Could you please post your finding. I've a similar issue which was initially resolved by replacing the pink ignition relay which was causing the starter motor to fail to engage. You could test this by swapping the two pink relays in the fuse box area. However that did not fix my problem as my...
I've got an intermittent problem with my immobiliser. Sometimes the car starts no
Issues. Sometimes it is dead.
When I click the car locked sometimes the car beeps at me but I'm not sure what that means.
I managed to get it to start today after locking and unlocking as much as possible but...
Thanks - the eBay add clearly said 182 and Trophy so they must have screwed up. Car is now immobilised on ramps outside my garage and I can't close the door tonight now. :( joy.
Hi - I'm trying to fit bushes to the dogbone mount but have found the bolt at the gearbox end (smaller bush) the OE bolt is too thick for the collar
I've now noticed the kit states for Renault Clio Williams and 16v. It's PFF60-206K
Car is now undriveable as I destroyed the old bush.
Any...
Hi - I noticed when using cruise control when I indicate left its dropping out. I managed to replicate this problem a couple of times. Any ideas how I can fix this?
Thanks
Bounce! I need one of these rings. They are a bit prices at £51.83 delivered.
The ECP ones (£10) do not fit cup packed cars as they are too thin
Anyone else sell something which works?
I'm glad you posted that as it saves me the bother. I have done just the above and it really cost less than half of what I sold my trophy for. Any extra weight is not noticeable, the toys are handy and i think the car is faster on my local roads.
I sold Trophy151 with 38k on the clock last year and it started a price rise. I don't regret it (much) as at this end of the spectrum the costs involved to make a potential return of perhaps 5k are just not worth it.
It was a great car but my lightly sensibly modified 182 is almost the same...
Thanks. - I will probably do that but I'm genuinely interested in how I could kill an engine?
I thought I might lose some power and have to be more gentle on the car during warm up cycles.
Is there really other risks with this?
Hi - I have a 182 running 5 - 40 Millers nanotech oil and I plan on doing a service.
I have 6L of Millers 10 - 60 on a shelf which I used to run in a Porsche.
I don't do many track days as I don't have time. I do lots of motorway work and rural driving. Not much town work.
I'd like to use...
I had similar requirements to you and bought a slightly modified 182 for 2.5k
It still needed some work but selling chavy parts (imo) helps the cost.
If your willing to do some spannering yourself it's a great prospect. Parts are cheap or peanuts for second hand. :)
There is a huge difference...
I've had a Trophy and now have a 182 cup spec. I didn't think there would be much of a difference as let's be honest neither is a tech heavy car but you really don't notice any downsides to the 182 but I do appreciate the slightly nicer interior.
Thanks - the pads are fine. One sensor had iron filings on the top which I cleared off but I could not get access to the bottom as the screw rounded off :(
The rings were really looking very bad but I didn't remove the disk to inspect further.
I'm hoping a cleanup and new rings will fix it as...
Hi, I've been having some problems with my ABS warning light coming on. I am also getting a pulsing from the ABS at slow speed which seems to sometimes trigger the lights to come on.
I thought it was a sensor problem but today I stripped the brakes down and found a lot of corrosion to the hub...
I used to have an M3 individual with very similar colours. The Nav can be upgraded for the DVD based unit quite cheaply secondhand and it's a big improvement. Still not to modern standard but much better than that one.
I was pleased to see your reply and tried it but no luck.
Should the yellow or the blue connector go in? One is for the CD player and one the stalk controls.
I tried both but neither work. I know the controls do work as I bought an old OEM head unit and they work ok.
I also made sure the...
Another vote for B14s here. I love them. Comfy fast road setup. Work really well and the lack of ability to 'fiddle' is a bonus for me as I would obsess about whether my car was setup optimally whenever I drove otherwise.
The only phono connection on the back of the head unit is for a mic in. I don't want to use that as the unit has a built in mic.
I know the stalk does work as I tested it with the oem stereo
I had another crack at this and thought I had found the problem finding a blue ended plug tucked inside. However trying all fits it does not work.
I think this was for the CD player.
I still can't tell what the box and phono connection are for?
