The crank problem was on my old engine, cliokongen. The new engine had been getting a lot of oil before starting considering when I was checking why it dident start with the megane flywheel...
Tell us more about the potentiometer adjusting Ben!!!:D
Would bee cool to se som clios at the Ring...
On the old engine: I started to feel the engine had less power, at the end of the ring I started to get a hammering sound. I drove slowly to the pit. There I manage to stall it. And the engine is locked ever since. Lycky me I ahde the Clio on a trailer for easter... Havent open up the block yet...
There is nothing wrong whit the cam. Just the lifters which have been out of a business for a loong time. I used a spare head for the 2.0. So I still have a spare 1.8. Will se what is wrong with the crank soon. It is locked:o
I finaly startet my 2.0 today. It of course sounded terrible at first with the cam punding away. But when it got warm it sounded very nice. I will take it out tomorow, cant wait.
I will never change engines again w/o checking the triggerpionts again. Thanks to everyone who has helped me with...
Yes, it was realy worth it tonight I hope. Used 2,5 hours to rip the thing out inc taking the box and flyway off. I was I man on a mission yesterday. It was nice to see that your advice vas right. Cant wait to hear it run again...
Thanks cliokongen!!!! :D:D:);)
As many of you have followed, I did rip the engine out today. The Megane flywheel did indeed have only one triggerpiont vs the 16v who has two.Engine is now on its way back in. Hope it will fire tomorow.
I love the exstra work..:@
Great info Michael!! Good to know what is wrong. Out with the engine again..
I have just bought a Williams ECU. Will this also apply when using the willy ecu. I mean: Are the 16 and willy flywheel the same???
Adams_16v: Dont think the willy starter will fit a 16v flywheel.
Red16: Booooost. Lookes good! Yes the flywheels are different regarding the clutch. But I am hoping the triggerpionts are the same. Would be great if you could take a detailed pic of a F7R Flywheel
If people use the megane starter, then they must use the flywheel. Good, then I dont have to take the engine out. But what the /%#¤#%&/( is wrong??? Ah, the joy of cars...
You need to use the megane starter cause the clio starter will not fit the megane flywheel.
So did people use the Megane flywheel??? Or do I have a different fault??
Thanks enyway Ben. Lookes like you have some cool software:D!!!
I Read a post that you needed the Megane starter to do the conversion, so I asumed that people where using the Megane flywheel...
I cant start my engine after the F7R bottom conversion. I wantet the bigger clutch so I used the flywheel of the megane. Now I am wondering if the flywheel has has different triggerpionts of the egnition, since I only get a spark at the 2 and 3 sylinder.
please, enyone who has done this and...
I am confused on which one I should buy. I have a valver with a 2.0litre conversion (not Willy)... Why are the willy ones different than the rest? Bigger????
