My Megane F7R had the "oilcooler". Do you remove this when fitting an front mounted oil cooler?
Thanks for all the tips, I will get the credit card out and get a new radiator and externail oil cooler :D
Hi Ben!:)
I dont know the exact temp. But it almost peaks the gauge. Havent realy checked that much. But I think circulation of the wather is OK. I am wondering about the "auxcilerary pump" how important is that?
Having problems whith my 2 litre conversion (F7R). It runs good when driven normaly on the road. But everytime I go to the track I breake a headgasket. I have used new bolts and machined the head so that is even.
The engine temp gets too high at the track. I am starting to lose all faith of...
I just have to say. This is one of the coolest engine swaps I have seen. It makes our F7R and GTT conversions look too easy. Must be cool to be the first to do the 1,6 16v in a clio! Great job!!!!:D
I have spray jets on both the 16v and 172. Most cars upp here come with seatheating, mirror heating, spray jets and bigger generator (winter pack).
The generator in my 16v is a 110amp. Is that standrard in the UK also?
Of course it is a bit of a difference. But its not like WOW, this car goes. But it does feel a lot stronger. If its worth it when you have a good running 1.8, I am not sure. It will always be a clio.. My engine was broken in the first place.
But if your car means a lot to you, and you want it...
I have no idea what kind ow prima chip it is. Seems to work Ok. I also have the original Willy chip. But since the Prima works fine, I will try it for now. Yes, the 2.0 realy pulls strong and nicely a little earlier.
But mabye its time to save upp for some Throttle Bodies this winter? Too...
I am at last finnished with my 16v 2.0. Car feels great to drive. I fittet a willy ECU on friday together with a Prima chip. It runs very smooth an strong. I drove it for a few days on the 1.8 ECU and it had a rough idle and not so strong. I also moved the steringwheel 60mm outwards, it feels...
I am thinking of picking up a set of 17" rims for my 172 Mk2 on a trip to the Nürburgring next week. Ill be driving my 16v so I cant trial fit them...
What ET should I get, I am geting 17x7 whith 205/40-17 tires. My car has 48ET, but I read the Cup has 38,5ET.
Will 35ET fit? I am putting on...
They will also be more heavy than 15s. More unnsprungweight. I remember when I was younger, having Escort RS 15" with 195/45 on a Fiesta 1.1. It barerly moved forwards. 15" inch is the way to go! If performance is important.
I took my engine out for the 3. time in a few weeks today. From the time I started to take of the bonet to to when the flywheel came off, it took 2,5 hours :). Starting to know how to do it now. Mabye I should tru to set a new world record? ;)
BTW. The sealing behind the flywheel was leaking...
It workes fine now. Had a few run in problems. I dident manage to fit one of the fuelhoses properly. My feul relay dident care to much for a 6 week break from the road. Had problems with getting the reverse in. (My friend has looked over my gearbox. But after some driving the reverse is now...
I changed my flywheel in 7 hours. But I already had the car jacked up, the bonnet and wheels off. So 10 hours sound correct. I took the complete engine/box out (uppwards)
