Join me at the Ring and Ill show you it works fine... Understeering has never been a problem. Only the back beeing to light when you brake too late :o
Think a Maxi style rear wing will help it stay on the ground.
I have never understood why you would spend money on bigger brakes on a 16v Or 172. I have raced my 16v heavely, and never felt I have too smal brakes! But of course bigger brakes look cool...
I havent been into Renault all that long and dont know what kind of parts that are available. But I think a "normal" clutch whith stronger springs will do the job. It is better to change the clutch onca a year than a gearbox every 2 months..
BTW I Run a standard type clutch om my Ruf Porsche...
Hopefully in a few days. All depends if my friend have the time to put my gearbox back together. It dosent look god with gearboxparts all over my garage :o
Yes the willy has 2mm lager intake valves. Is till think the power will be around the willy.. I have a decat, clio diesel middle pipe (no silenser) And supersprint rear, open filter. The problem is to get the stupid Siemens ECU to give it more fuel. Thinking of converting to Programable ECU next...
Whithe the rear Konis adjusted to the hardest posistion the rear feels wery nice, even w/o a spoiler. Thinking of putting on a Maxi rear wing. Dont think it would be to hard. I mostly use the old 16v for track use enyway.
Cant wait to test them, just have to put the 2.0litre inn first!
Have no idea, Just told the spring guy I wanted them 50% stiffer than the jamex. I wanted a bit more, but then I will have problems whith the car getting to high in the front.
I use a tool caled "dremmel" wery fast and light. Think a drill will be a bit slow and hard...:p
I am using the Clio head and cams. Was thinking about using the megane cams, but it looked like the cliocams have more lift?
Using a megane head will have many problems. The didtributor will be...
Unless you have problems whith too much power for a "normal" clutch dont get it. It will only break your gearbox.. The have NO springs to soften the beating between the gearbox and the flywheel. ON-OFF :-)
I was not happy with my jamex springs on my 16v. I broke the bumpstop at the Nürburgring this easter. So I have gotten hand made springs 50% stiffer. Hope they would do the job better than the sh*tty jamex... New one is black.

Off course the are stretch bolts. It dosent mean they cant be used once again if you use your brain a little.. I have 20 used ones, hope 10 of them will still work.
I put powerflex ones on my car. It was a very difficult getting the midle ones on. Had to modify the hole on the mounting bracket to manage to screw them on.
I know you are suppose to..
I talked to a en "expert today" and he told me that you can feel it when you are tightening the bolt. If it gets lighter after as you are torqing it, unscrew it and try another one, is what he said. He used to do Cossie engines for a rallycrossteam. Ha said the...
Cheers Red16!!
It is I that am dead wrong :o
I ran out to my garage and to have a look. I hadent realise the differense i the intake. The Megane head sucks!!! Here is the proof. ;) The difference in valves dont justefy using the megane head... Clio on the left...
I am now ripping the head apart. Will have a mild port and of course a rebuild whith everything new.
Enybody know the difference between the Megane Cams and the 16v? Looks like the Clio cams has the valve open on top for a longer time?
A few monts ago I asked advice on a Megane Engine into my 16v. I am now i the prosess of installing the engine. I was adviced to use the Fi16 head, and not the Megane (F7R). But that must be dead wrong. The Megane engine has lager inntake valves.
