I really like the 197 and it is definately a step forward from a 182.
It is true a standard 225 doesn't feel like a turbo car. I found the power delievery a little boring with no kick, just smooth power all the way through.
Remap certainly changes that with a big kick of torque low down and...
Glad to see you still have the 182.
I'd pop down Carlton Garage in Exmouth, great service and a great price.
I'm sure the clutch is fine, just let them know you want it checked.
As said neither of them look like they include the aux belt, which is needed.
Renault would be more like £400, I did pay under £200 for mine on my 172 though.
Have you had your Brembo's painted white?
Looks really smart behind the black wheels.
A spot on looking 197, I would get the tail pipes changed for something a little meatier looking though.
Know, never had a mis-fire problem.
It always, like others rumbled with the exhaust quietly popping on idle though.
Around the 30k it had a new coil pack, water temp sensor, plugs etc. That was the cure the it not starting first time from cold when left out all night 1 out 10 times.
I...
If thats what your into, why not?
But a near 20 year old ugly car of that spec ain't going to be reliable or cheap to run and I would have to buy another car as I couldn't be seen in it.
It's very chav like.
You still recognising the reg that quickly hey Paul? lol
She is looking good Jon, will be even better with a splitter again.
Here's a pic of my Megane. But i'm usually driving my Mondeo barge.
And the 172 before Jon had it
I'm lost on your cars mate. lol
Fair play, but how do you find and sell these cars so quickly?
How many Evo's have you had now? They all looked pretty mean.
I'd go for which either you prefer the look of. I had a Ph2 for 3 years and loved it.
So I'd try and get a Ph2 if you can, but £3k maybe tight to find a good one.
Ph2 has Xenons, Climate, Rain sensitive wipers and autolights etc and a much nicer interior and bumpers.
The both go just as...
Not nice at all.
My Mum's jag was covered in paint stripper a few years ago when i was still living at home. Luckily I was over my Mrs's house or they would have got my 172 too and I would of lost my NCB.
We had no idea way someone would have done it.
It's just the worry they will do it...
I'd get a geometery check carried out to see if everything is in the right place.
I had to pay to get it done on the Megane at Renault, even though it's still under warranty, cost about £160.
Everything is fine and straight, but mine still pulls to the left.
My 172 did this and was fine once I changed the battery.
I didn't believe it was the battery either as it started fine and the radio keep it's stations.
It's driving Bristol - Portsmouth (250 mile round trip) 2/3 times a week for work, which racks the mileage up. It's a boring drive to.
Oh well only an other year to go, I hope.
I reckon I do about 800miles a week, so I reckon about 40k a year.
Say 650-750 a week in the barge mondeo, then about 50-100miles in the Megane and abou 60-100miles on the bike ,if I use it for a weekend blast.
You know it makes sense to get one :)
I knicked that one that was on there off my brother-in-laws car when he traded his 182 in. So I didn't pay anything for it anyway.
The car looks good mate.
The wheels look smart, much better than standard.
Just need to get a splitter back on now :), doesn't look right without one now.
