My 53 plate 172 felt pretty good.
But as said they vary between cars abit too much.
Maybe try a new filter or an ITG filter and some v-power for a while.
Your be looking at £400 for both and a service really at a good garage.
If you down south i'd go to, Carlton garage - Exmouth, Rentech - Portsmouth & K-Tec Verwood, Dorset.
Plenty of common faults or a 'Characteristic of the car' as Renault will put it too you.
Exhaust are made of tin and fall off around 30k
Rear shocks leak
Engine and gearbox mounts are weak
seat racks
gearbox aren't great imo
altenators don't last long
steering wheels melt
headlight washers...
They are quite similar speed wise, but you can catch a 1*2 out of below 5.5k and pull away easy. The 225 pulls very linear standard, doesn't feel like a turbo and there is no noticeable kick.
I understand what Ian is saying, standard 225 is slighter quicker and the mpg is worse. But you do...
You only get lag if you off the throttle for a while and try to plant it back on in a high gear.
You don't notice any lad when accelerating, due to it's tiny turbo.
Remap brings the engine alive, as mine felt very tame standard and i preferred my old 172's engine.
Have driven a non-cup...
Nice one.
It that the XB9sx one then? I think thats like one I test rode a few a few years ago.
Like you said it's not silly quick, but you get a constant surge of power right from low revs. Very easy to ride and cut through traffic.
I couldn't get use to how it ran, I thought it was going...
Bikes dead then? :( At least he is alright
My mate went there a few years back racing in the supersports on his Gixer6. Highsided on the first corner of the first race and then got ran over and broke a few ribs, then spent the rest of the weekend in hospital.
Spainish? Yeah they are VW parts. lol
Yeah they are pretty reliable, my Dad is on his fourth Seat and my Nan is probably on here 7th Seat (New Cupra).
She had 5 Ibiza's, all seemed pretty good.
I think i'll be upgrading around Xmas time to HD.
I'm not keen on paying an extra £10 a month for it though, but ii'm glad the boxes have got alot cheaper though.
Did a rolling road day a few years ago, with a load of these in Newport.
2 kept cutting into limp mode and most struggled for 175bhp.
Sounds like yours has been done properly, how accurate is the 240bhp?
I'd get it on the rollers at somewhere you trust, mainly to see how it's running. Best...
I'm confussed??
I'd just got the insurance company to repair the car and kept it, wouldn't have made no difference to the cars value.
But if you can get paid the cash and get it repaired for alot less, then fair enough.
I got paid out for a bike i got knocked off and bought the bike back...
