BB and K TEc are just Gaz or Avo, whichever supplier they can get at the time. BB was Gaz, they just changed to Avo.
Ive got both sets (on two different valvers) so I can tell you that the Gaz are incredibly harsh as standard. The springs are 200lb jobs that are far too hard for normal road...
Dont let me put anyone off though - first timers can have a great laugh just driving their totally road-spec Clios up the quarter mile. Once youve had a few goes though and you really start to get into it you learn the tricks of the trade and lightening the car is one of them - every tenth of a...
Stripping a car is standard issue for a day of quarter miling! Anyone who *doesnt* strip at least the back seats out must be only on their first few runs EVER. Serious quarter milers know that the only thing that matters is your time. When you compare times with other quarter milers, theyre not...
Definitely water in the plug wells. Its happened to loads of us. Just get some of that blue paper towel from the garage, twist it up into a long thing roll and poke it down - rolled up, it will go around the edge of the plug right into the deepest recesses, and soak up the water. Keep doing each...
Ive had the blue/white ones in for a year or so now and never been pulled. Then again Ive got a nervous habit of suddenly switching to headlights rather than just sidelights, every time I pass a copper!
The blue/whites arent like a Halfords bulb dodgy blue colour, they are seriously BLUE BLUE...
LOL gary boy muppet special!
I reckon its quality. Originality is what counts and that has got it by the bucketload. I had a better look at that bonnet at the FCS and its no tuppeny-hapenny job either.
So Im thinking about trying a paddle clutch in my Clio and Im not that well up on whats what. Well Ive got ideas but not sure. Can someone explain exactly:
Why does having paddles instead of a disc make them capable of higher torque loading/greater clamping force onto the flywheel?
Why are...
Ive just checked the calendar and Ive got half a mind to hack it up to York for Bank Holiday Monday (26th May) to run it up there. Itll be the last chance I get until July at this rate.
Yes sadly it is still to run, normally by this time in the season Id have already done York and Santa Pod at least once already, but because my turbos been in and out of the workshop getting stuff done, tweaking this and that etc. its been tricky to get any quarter miling in. Picking the Clio up...
They always bluff you and if you dont see it through to court you will pay. Its standard policy that they dont bother with complaints until it gets to court or the independent parking adjudicators. From their point of view, it makes sense to try and force people to pay the money even if they...
Yeah Ive got the same sort of problem. Mines booked in for a respray but I dont know what colour blue to go for...Monaco Blue like the late valvers? Or Ford Imperial Blue, or that really deep purply blue on Evo 6s? Or Bayside Blue like off a Skyline?
Votes please.
LOL putting a 21 turbo lump in it would be a real mission. But people would bow to you for doing it though. Where youd fit that 2 litre I dont know!
Ive been in a few 5s and they do rattle like hell but to be honest if youre putting a GTT lump into a Clio to get rid of the rattles youll be...
THe RAV4 is quality. Id say go for a reversed RAV 4 job - you dont want air going into the engine up there, you want it being drawn out. Theres enough going in through the front, its getting rid of the hot air thats the problem?
5" looks a bit silly on a Clio IMHO cos everyone knows you only need a bore like that on a turbo car. And if your car aint turbocharged then everyone knows its just for show. Mines turbo and Ive only just got a 3.5" tail on it. 3 or 4 " max Id say. 4" just looks like a very big tailpipe. 5" is...
You younger drivers, dont get too excited about getting old and having cheap insurance, Im 29 and just got quoted 1200 quid for my 200 SX! Needless to say I didnt take it.
Mine are on backslash - in other words as the wheels rotates the groove scrapes the pad from the inside to the outside. It chucks brake dust everywhere but at least you know its clearing them out. Surely having them forward slash wouldnt work as well?
Im now running Gaz coilovers. Its not the dampers that are harsh, its the standard springs that come with them which are 200lb jobs. Not that I know anythign about spring ratings, but they are hard and bouncy , so you need to get them to supply softer springs. Which I have got, and are going on...
yeah talking about bikes....I always thought bikes were the fastest thing on the roads...but now for the first time Ive got a proper fast car of my own, Im no so sure. The amount of times I get held up on the roads by bikes that cant keep the pace, or bottle it on bends. Well I suppose Id slow...
LOL yeah nothing beats it when the drivers got his bird in the passenger seat and her two mates in the back and he gives it the big un at the lights. Then you totally destroy him off the line and flash your hazards!
