Right the problems persist with the 172! It idles like a right sack of s**t! I just changed the idle valve and that sorted it for about 5 mins, when it's cold it keeps cutting out slow down and come to a junction, dead, dip the clutch dead! Lumpy piece of s**t. Any ideas what it could be?

Car has just developed this! I've Searched for similar faults but found nothing of use. Car just idles like a sack of crap! Blip the throttle and let off and it can sometimes drop too 300rpm.. Did cut out twice this morning. It drive fine and idles fine if u hold it at 1000rpm. Thinking...

My coolant level keep dropping to halfway after a few days driving! No Mayo on the dipstick and a tiny dots worth under the filler cap which I put to condensation!! Cars not overheating and the heaters work fine! Is this a common thing not the f4r engines?? Any ideas what it could be?
