Im not talking about the metallic pinging when you switch the engine off, its like a ticking/soft rattle from under where the gear lever is that you can hear from about 2000rpm +.
I looked under my CUP when the engine was running today and noticed water dripping from the fixing where the back of the centre section joins to the rest of the exhaust. I also can hear a metallic ticking and sometimes rasping sound when Im in the car from under the gear lever area.
Is this...
I went from 106gti to CUP.
106 definitely had better handling. The grip level is probably the same but CUP feels like it has more bodyroll.
Nor does the CUP feel much quicker except over 60-70mph.
CUP is more comfortable, especially on motorways. The 106 is very noisy and low geared and...
Thats bull. The brokers are getting the same cars as the dealers. They buy loads at once so they get a discount thats all. They have they same warranty and you often pick them up from the dealers anyway. If you want one and the brokers guarantee they can get you one then do it.
Youve got to be kidding? The colour and the wheels give it a lot of road presence. Granted a standard 172 is often hard to spot but not the CUP. I know, Ive seen the heads turn.
It does have a bit of a classic status as people talk about it like a modern day 205 1.9gti.
I dont think theyll ever be worth a lot of money but theyll probably end up being worth more than same year 172s.
Seriously, Im planning on keeping my cup for a year and then if I can get about 10.5k for it, buying a 2nd owner V6. Are they likely to be available for £18k?
Staying below 3500rpm for 625 miles is stupid. Especially as the manual is the same for all the range. Im sure the 172 engine can handle more than a 1.2.
4 to 4500 is more reasonable.
The CUP has the same glass as a dynamique yes. Does your glass crack easily? Why have you bought a car with thin glass?
People are not entitled to an opinion. People are entitled to an INFORMED opinion. Of which yours is not.
Like I said, give them the chance to make the car as new and if it is still noticeable take it further.
If the bumper was damaged get a new one put on, not a repair. And have the whole roof repainted.
