i feel your passion pal but there no way i would pay £300odd for an air filter, i know there good but they dont give many more horses for the money difference.
180- 190 ft/lb torque is max it will handle 200ish but wont last long , ive blown 2 and my third is on its way out (uprated) and my car doesnt have major mods
£250 for a cambelt on 172? yes its feasable but theywill use a powertrain cambelt kit (£60) and gates aux belt i would always use genuine renault parts
front and rear springs will fit, front dampers wont , rear dampers will hubs will but you have to change the bearing and knuckle to make the drive shaft fit
head work - reprofile the head so more air gets in etc benr is the one to speak to, that combined with an inlet match and some of freds cams and you'll be rocking, speak to fred as he can put some very nice packages together for you
how much do you want to spend
standard mods are
exhaust
airfilter
manifold
re-map
then you can move onto to things like
inlet manifold match (bottom half)
Cams
head work
IMO suspension would be the first stop as it will enable you to take corners faster etc
then a disk/pad upgrade to...
who did your re-map? was it Live map or re-flash? R-sport/grp N programs give you a sooty exhaust as does a de-cat, i have a dynojet wide band commander AFR meter with decat and r-sport it runs within the correct range and mt exhaust is filthy from deposits!
run it until the light comes on , there is a gallon in the tank at the point. put a tenner in and see what you get. i get about 70 miles for that (cup engine) if its miles different may have a problem.
if your going to check for fuel leaks the most obvious place to start is to check the fuel...
remove the slam pannel and they undertay and the fuel rail protector its pretty easy to change the Rad, you will need to remove the air-con parts etc but you dont need to remove the bumper, a new nissins rad will only cost you £70. it may not be the rad it may be the lower coolant pipe looking...
if its the mini ATX case its a normal sized , normal connectors PSU if its the scissors case then its a normal 20 PIN ATX connector but its a funny size.
you can get them on ebay for around £20
its the motherboards that wont fit in other case's
cost wise i would go for an uprated alt and a bigger battery ie: clio diesel battery see how you get on then, if it fails you then upgrade to a split charge system
they can change the bearings for a small charge, i only found out due to my cup alternator going and renault not having an exchange part in stock so wanted £300 for a new one arse to that
you could also run a split charge system with the uprated alt as vinny says with yellow top batteries
