dblias in germany will sell you re profiled cams for 200euro and they claim they add 12bhp , you will be supprise by the ammount of power you can get out of this little engine but not worth bothering with unless you find it hard to be insured on anything bigger . superchips claim to remap for...

what is the correct order of the parts on the front strut? ive changed my bearings but keep thinking ive put them back together in the wrong order
thanks !
They have improved the dogbone mount with a harder rubber but the top gearbox mount needs doing too. ive been in touch with powerflex about making a full set , so far its going to be new year and around £100 for 3 poly mounts which aint bad considering k-tecs are £35 for one set

bottom dog bone engine mount needs replacing, take a lot of stress and only has rubber bushes. a new one is £31 or you can replace the bushes with powerflex poly items for £30 .
the jc5 129 is a bit of a crap gear box im on my 3rd one in 12k miles , if you having trouble changing the selctor will be bend or the syncro will be gone
throttle possition sensor is what you want to clean on the mk1 172, its at the front of the unit held on with 2 x 10mm bolts, if its a mk2 on my mk2 throttle body i change the whole unit and its never been better
182 turbo sounds like a good idea but you come to the jc5 gearbox which you will need to uprate to get any reliability from it, ktec do a 172 conversion, as do BB tuning there examples are around 250bhp, but its alot of money for 70bhp £3500 you could have throttle bodies 225bhp and very good...
2005 dymanique has electric power steering and wants over 14 volts due to the cold your alternator battery may have not been able to deliver it , happens on mine often but due to my dodgy wiring
