Cool, I hadn't thought about trying direct from speedline themselves.
Fletcher, would you mind pm'ing me what they cost you, I've seen a few different prices floating around on them.
Hi all,
I've had a search but due to the high number of threads containing 2118's i haven't found a answer yet.
Will 2118's with an offset of et37 run with no issues on a lowered 172 cup?
It will probably end up being about 40mm lower than standard with a little more camber at the front...
IMO it just sounds like the top mounts, they're 10x worse on slippery surfaces like are about at the moment, I've changed every single suspension component on my car recently (not for this reason) and it's horrendous on full lock in the snow.
I can't help with a place to get new injectors but depending wether or not you can go without the car for a while, there are plenty of places that will hypersonically clean your injectors and replace all the seals, a quick internet search will show up the different companies about.
HTH
A friend of mine has a S2000 at the moment and yes it is a great sounding car and they do go very well but it's just such hard work on the roads!
How did you find the Elises? were yours S1's? A friend of mine also has a Elise just a 118 S1 though, i didn't ever really drive this enough to make...
Yep, I've always been the same really, I've got a few cars i really want to tick of but when it comes to actually buying them i always choose the safer option of buying something more sensible.
For example, a few cars i want but can't ever seem to go through with getting one....
S2000 -...
I had exactly the same when i sold my Trophy, I wanted something different as i was a little bored with the clio so sold the Trophy and bought a Megane R26.
Now don't get me wrong the R26 was a awesome car in many ways especially as it was running about 260bhp but it just wasn't as exciting as...
I've had this before, i don't know if there is a correct way but what i done was too make sure the "plastic probe" is sticking out as far as possible (by adjusting the lights to be in their highest position) and then try and hook it into place, once it's hooked in just slide the adjuster back...
I think the 360 is one of the best looking Ferrari's of modern times, love them!
I was out at the ring late september and there was a Porsche track day going on, there were two GT2 RS's there, now they sounded awesome!!
Brake pedal switches in my experience just put up the 'SERV' and 'ESP' lights intermittently, I've never had the car go into 'limp' mode either with a faulty brake pedal switch.
You can buy the switches from the dealers for a little over a tenner and it's about a 30second job to swap so it's a...
My OS main beam bulb went out the other day, I thought nothing of it and got a replacement that day, once i had changed the bulb it still didn't work, I haven't had time yet to swap bulbs from left to right just to make sure i didn't buy a iffy bulb.
If it's not that I'll have to have a look...
It's a good job you didn't have any say in Renault's decision to fit that suspension then. In doing so they made one hell of a road car, I've never driven anything that is so composed and compliant as what the Trophy is over our roads. I don't disagree with what you say about the Cup being just...
Hi people,
My 172 cup has been having a few issues recently, It started about 6 weeks ago when sitting in the famous Brussels traffic for about 2 hours while making very slow progress, the car was driving absolutely fine when the general electrical warning light lit up and also put the car...
I have read in a renault magazine years ago about the Cup being made for homologation purposes, as you say hence the no ABS, AC, crap seats and so on. At the price it hit the show rooms they sold a lot more than they expected hence why there are nearly as many 'Cups' out there as standard 172's...
My Cup cost about £100 over my Trophy.
Having owned both and having covered many road and track miles in both I'd be hard pushed to choose one over the other. Both are extremely good cars and very different to one another IMO. I do miss the exclusivity of the Trophy though.
With the Cup i do...
I bought a 172 cup not all that long ago, again with no history of the cambelt being done.
I bought the following from Renault
Cambelt kit
Auxiliary belt
Water Pump
dephaser pulley
Crank bolt
Cam cap plugs (or whatever they're called)
I know so people say why replace items that aren't broken...
Certainly recognise a fair few of the cars in yours pics.
We were there from saturday till monday when we headed of to SPA, i drove all the way down to Nurburg without any issues, dropped all our stuff and headed of down to do a couple of laps late in the evening when BANG, snapped the upper...
