I wondered if that's what it was but wasn't 100% as it doesn't look replaceable.
I'm relocating the battery and didn't want to cut it off to shorten the cable to find out it was something important.
I've got so many ideas of bit and pieces i want to do to it i think it's going to always be a bit of a ongoing project now.
At the moment I'm in the process of stripping the front end down and giving it all a good clean and replacing a few bits, also gives me a good chance to sort my...
Cheers, the photo was taken just outside of bormio in italy, it was on the way to stelvio. Me and a few mates spent a few days doing all the mountain passes, the trophy in the alps has been my best driving experience to date, awesome car that was!
This is a photo from a few months ago
It's not changed since then apart from being a little dirtier and having a missing splitter/arch liner due to a rabbit getting in my way one evening!
Hi guys,
After a great years ownership with my 182 Trophy i decided i wanted to buy a cheap clio and turn it into a bit of a track toy, after selling the trophy i thought i'd have a R26 for a bit as i'd always fancied one since they'd come out, great car but after six months it was time to move...
It's looking good mate, Be interesting to see what the red wheels are like on it?! I came close to having my 2118's painted green, never got round to it though.
I guess this is like most things, i need to compromise, i do like the fact i can run curbs on track without having to worry, would just of been nice to find something a little lighter.
Hi all,
I've recently taken my 172 off the road for the next 6 months or so, during this time i want to try and improve the cars bhp/ton ratio.
The car currently has some speedline 2118s on which are reasonable heavy, what other options are out there that can offer a reasonable weight...
Looks pretty clean and tidy mate.
I'll be interested to see what the splitter looks like fitted in the real, my splitter ended up in the bin last weekend. I seem to have serious bad luck with splitters and rabbits!!
Walk out megzy's door look left and I'm in the houses behind the block of flats so literally a stones throw!
I've seen you a few times now, when you've been parking up usually!
I think this is a good opportunity for anyone else who hasn't set up their 'find my phone' to do so. I've used this service a couple of times when i left my phone at work/mates houses. It shows you on google maps where it is and it also allows you to send a tone/message to the phone along with...
I passed you the other day and seen you a few times now in my 172cup when you was outside the house, wondered what you were up to as i know they're away at the moment, I live just down the road from there.
I've had both my cup and trophy cambelts done at GDA http://www.gdasportscars.co.uk/ they're more of a jap specialist but have a few regular customers with clios and seem to know the clios pretty well.
I'm sure i paid about £450 for my cup, all genuine parts and also had the dephaser done as well.
Sounds like me and cbetts have very similar cars these days! Including the fact it desperately needs a clean!!
What you coming back with then brownyboy?
Me too, I went from a 182 Trophy to a Megane R26 and now back in a 172 Cup.
Loved everyone of them and do miss the Megane but I do love the feeling of a relatively well powered light hatch.
Ideally I'd have a R26 as my daily and the 172 Cup as my track toy.
Ah excellent, I only searched for your previous 'big power' thread the other day wondering if it had gone any further.
Looking forward to seeing this thread
Gman
Not me but i was there from 9-10:30 in a 172 cup, also see a trophy, silver 172 black 182 and a couple of V6's. Also a very nice Turbo 2.
Seeing the cars Renault had on show made me miss my trophy and R26 and has really made me want a R26'r and a RS250!!!
Re: Could this of been why the rear felt different on fast sharp left/right hand corn
Yep, the yellow and white marked spring is a genuine 172 cup spring and the white marked one is a standard 172 spring.
I may well have a couple of 172 cup springs, I'll have a look tomorrow and pm you if...
I removed the throttle body the other day and gave it a little clean but more so i could inspect all the wiring around that area, once i refitted it the car ran spot on for about 4 days so i'm hoping that has narrowed it down to either the wiring on the throttle body itself.
I rang Renault today...
Update on this, I checked the car with a handheld scanner today and got a new code up, PO325 which i believe is a fault in the knock sensor system does this point in any particular direction with the other problems or is this likely to be a separate problem?
My 172 Cup has not been running correctly for sometime now but as it's been very intermittent i've never really got around to sorting it.
Over the last two days though it's become a constant problem and after searching on here i've read many different things so thought i would list my exact...
I've got exactly the same at the moment, hoping to have a better look at it this weekend.
So you won't be the only one driving around Crowborough with your indicators flashing as you've forgot to cancel them!!
Cheers for all the info guys, I've phoned speedline today and they do them in ET38 or ET43, the only thing is they only do them in white if you have the ET38 wheels, they will do a special order so i could have another colour but i'd need to order 24 wheels so......
