Just been landed with a £400 bill to replace the UCH. As the car is 3 weeks out of warranty renault customer services dont want a thing to do with it. I even tried to explain that the UCH has been replaced last year but renault UK are denying this as their computer says "no".
Im so pissed...
hazard lights keep coming on, looked at the switch and its not that. Only way i can get them to stop its to remove the connector to the uch and plug it back in.
Same thing happened to someone else and they needed a new UCH.
i dont think its right that something that is designed to last...
looks like my car needs a new UCH and is going in to renault on friday, however i have just looked at it and the manufacture date is february last year and the car is three years old. So it looks like the UCH was replaced sometime last year (before august cos thats when i bought it).
Would it...
the thing with collisions is that it may not look too bad on the outside but there can be alot of damage internally. get a quote for the repairs asap and dont bother getting the wheel reburbished, get a new one
did you get his insurance details, address or reg number?
dont know the limits, but your oil temperature is very low, should be around 80ºC so i think they might have tested it with the engine cold, so its no wonder that its failed.
What mpg are u getting, because if its constantly on the "choke" then it will be crap
problem is now getting worse as the hazard lights are now coming on when i was driving to work. They stuck on when i unlocked the car this evening however before i drove home i pulled the fuse for the immobiliser after i started it and the hazard lights did not come on once.
Im now thinking...
went to my car before and the hazard lights were flashing, however the button was not pressed and i had to start the car a switch them on and off manually to stop them flashing. this is the second time that its happened in the last week.
does anyone know whats going on coz i dont want to get...
just dont tell them that you have sold it, if you dont get a new car before your insurance is due dont renew it and ask for your proof of ncb. if you do get a new car just get the policy changed
ive got a mk2 02 plate with 48000miles, paid £8k last august and ive had no faults at all with it (touch wood).
i do 400 miles a week, which is mostly motorway and it copes very well but can be a little bumpy with the stiff suspension. Averaging about 42mpg at 70mph, about 45mpg at 60mph...
got the 49mpg over about 25miles, just sat a 60 all the way. its all about taking it really easy on your right foot.
however my car is very well run in and has done a far few miles (48k in 2.5 years) and it has only ever seen optimax which i beleive makes a huge difference.
im getting about 43mpg, however the trip computer on mine is a little bit out and it reads about 3 mpg over. I reset it yesterday whilst on the motorway and sat at 60mph i was getting 52mpg (really 49mpg)
not bad for a 2 litre
as for fuel - optimax all the way, seeing that renault recommend...
Christ you people have more money than sense, you do realise that the movements in most "swiss made" watches are mass produced and cost less than £100 to buy, add that to about £100 worth of steel and other components and you have a watch that retails at over £1000.
Two words - RIPOFF
its impossible for an insurance company to find out how many miles you do. a car could do 30k in a year but that could be done by many people on different insurance policies
