Just broke this trying to pull it out, half of it fell into the inlet, not a massive problem as im having that off anyway, im going to go to a scrap yard to get another, but dont want to brake another one!
having a whole world of trouble with this car, getting the electrical fault code come up, read it and it says map sensor, however after some research i found that these problems are usaully associated with the metal anti tamper block covering the ecu, so i removed that and the wires had very...
My car does better fuel economy on the itb's than when it was a fairly stock williams engine, also my itb conversion ended up costing my nothing but the price of a dta ecu, i would personally never spent the sort of money some have on this conversion, second hand and diy is king.
I bought...
This is doing my head in, ive been told about the wheel at the back to turn, ive turn it up load, then down loads, and it doesnt do anything, so how do i get it off?
Trying to sort the loom on my 1.2, ive read about teh damage being caused at the back of the engine where the ecu is, today i tried to have a look at it but theres a metal block in the way, cant see how to get it off?
Cheers, ordered some new bolts, Craig did the brake servo liek that, not had a problem yet and it gets driven very hard!, got Brands at the end of the month so porblem will show there if its not enough!
Ill have a go at just repairing the section mentioned above first!
Hutchie, is it underneath some covers or something? all i can remember is the plug to the right off the blue box you've drawn (my girlfriend use's the car so dont see it through the day other wise i'd go crack on)
yer thats the problem im having, goign to haev to unravell it and re do it all, ran it on diagnostic and it came back as map sensor fault, its intermittent, so must be a wire earthing out every now and then
I've had an air leak coming in past my throttel body's so today i decided to take them off
I got to this point and noticed the problem
those little allen bolts, all but 2 were loose, they are i think to short, so want to know where i can get the longer version of the bolts, (i dont know...
APd did this conversion for my friend 3 years ago! he kept getting problems though, cracked crank, got a new crank, then the sump developed a crack and dropped all the oil, so it done the b/e again! built a forged engine, then lsot interest, think his gone back to a 1.4.
I'll keep the white clio till death, to much time spent onit, its a perfect track car, just getting bored of irioning out problems, saying that when i returned on saturday there was nothing to be fixed!
I always have other cars (4 atm) but as said, ill keep the white one, love going evo...
Did you have a run in with a white mk1?
Kele, did you lend a wheel brace to someone once in tesco car park? back when i was using my silver 172 the wheel came loos and i borrowed one from someone with a car that looks just like the one in your avater.
looking for standard engines really, when i got my itb'd 172 the rev limit was set at 7800, which seemed high to me, i now have it at 7200, the car was mapped at rstuning with the 7800, is there power up that high? seems a bit high for standard b/e!?
I built this for my brother for when he passed his test, but before he managed it he was given a 106! my girlfriend has been using this, but now have a diesel so ill be selling it once it has a fresh mot onit, it coudl do with lowering to!
Yer they certainly have a good reputation, just waiting for K-tec to get back to me as i think from what ive read that they are a fair bit cheaper, and have mapped a few friends cars with good results.
