If you see this before I see you mark, remind me and I'll show you what you need. But it's best to get the calipers stripped then workout what you need.
Its not exactly a 5min trip for you, but Saturday is going to be a big day, considering it's still cold anyway!
If this years anything like last, I'm going to have a constant flow.
PM me for postcode if you want it :)
Finally getting Terry's 172 back together, so out comes the gazebo again.
helped by my latest snap on purchase, impact gun :)
Clocks are the easist, start with the four dial SMD's (two on each dial, next to the centre spindle), they are only 2 pin, so easy peasy, before doing the four display 4pin SMD's, they are a bit more of a pain, although I treated them as 3pin (negative side linked together for ease)
The 172 wheels aren't that bad.
Probs has had the belt done, but it could have been 5 years ago when the car was circa five years old, so do it again anyway, its cheaper than 16 valves etc when it goes (assuming the valves don't break and mash a piston). Get it done with the belt, you don't...
No need for films, they have a film as standard, mines just had LED's done.
Climate panel is a b*****d. 26 SMD's in total, four (for the display) are the PLCC 4, rest are 2.
Buttons (window switches/rear screen etc) aren't supposed to be that bad, but I haven't looked into those yet.
Whole dash loom.
The auto headlights has, IIRC 2 relays, next to the UCH, it goes into the UCH, Fusebox and the wiring over to the stalk is different, as the stalk just sends the UCH signals rather than flicking relays like it does on your Cup.
I actually fixed this. I cut open a non xenon headlight, removed the white plastic bit really f**king carefully, then really really really carefully fitted it to the xenon, its a proper proper proper pig.
Hardest bit is getting the white bit into the xenon, although that ball is in there bloody...
I know all about this, as I added auto lights to my Climate control loom when I converted my DCi from basic as f**k to climate etc.
Its a proper pig, and unless you're willing to have the loom out, and have a loom from a car with auto lights and strip them both down and swap it across, its not...
Going the right way.
I know what cambelt cover you meant, supposed to have a plastic one between the bottom pulley and that upper cover. Do you still need one?
Make sure whoever does the cambelt has the proper renault tools too.
Re: dmallett's titanium ph1
Its you, you'll break it.
Speaking to you yesterday, 182 seems to be the way to go, but more OEM+ than the PH1 daily track car.
Still dumped at my brothers, Will get it over ASAP. Get the seats flogged, tidy the car up and fire it on.
Hopefully flip between having the Inferno done/sold and the Cup sold off once Terrys is done.
