Oh I completely agree r.e. looks and that 15s are most likely (never driven them) the optimum size.
The rant was in response to those who ignore/don't consider big things (saying 17s are great with different suspension or that 15s on a track car felt great compared to 16s on a STD car) And not...
Nearly pains me to see how all the other possible variables get ignored in these sorts of threads r.e. fact/opinion/comparison.
Tyres (type, width, sidewall stiffness, pressure, temperature, tread depth)
Wheel weight (unsprung mass etc)
Rolling diameter (17" wheels raise CofG a good 30mm or so...
I'm sorry that you interpretted my post differently to how I intended.
I appreciate that the mods you've mentioned so far are all performance based. Though you might not agree with all the suggestions, :p , this thread is full of cheap interior/exterior ideas...
Not the most accurate answer IMO ^^^
The simple FACT is that according to your policy document 99% of the time you have to declare everything. It's then up to individual insurance companies whether in their eyes there's it constitutes a higher risk.
The only "mixed opinion" comes from...
If you've sold anything to CeX recently (via post, not in-store) what was the rough turn around time?
With respect, I'm asking how long your order took. I'm more than capable of suggesting "it's christmas" as a possible reason to myself!
My order has been received (says Royal Mail & CeX...
Sometimes my head just explodes when I think about the disparity between that (quite literally) "textbook" image of frequency response curves & critical damping, and the sort of modified cars you see out & about...
Back to diverting attention from the lights... do you plan to stick with...
That's the thing though - is it minor? Actually that's not the word I'm looking for to be fair. Cost of 10 gearbox warranty claims vs cost of adding an "R" to the already existing "1, 2, 3, 4, 5" on every Clio sold... is what I'm getting at.
EDIT: Sorry just seen your last post about it being a...
I know you've asked for a non face lift, i.e. a Ph1 but, for the Ph2 at least one design oversight that sticks in my mind:
Brake fluid reservior is inaccessable when the engine cover (held in by female torx bolts) is in place.
Many people will go "wot u moaning bout 4 bolts dat takes 3...
This thread could go on literally forever, HIDs are just the first 20 pages!
Wait till Sam, Chip etc pick up on the receipe for "perfect handling..."
Ironically the Saxo is far closer to being "OEM+" than the Clio.
This comment is not made specifically at this thread, as tbh it's great to see people providing links & VOSA images etc to back arguments. But, in the last two threads I've read:
An alarming number of people seem to think "if a single source doesn't say you can't do something, then it must...
Welcome, potentially interesting project you have there.
Unfortunately your post is incredibly difficult to read:
* You have a 172
* You want to put a Laguna turbo engine in
* The gearbox doesn't fit
* You think a megane box will fit
* You want to know the gearbox code
* You also have...
Grey area? Most people seem to say 182 when they mean a 182?
Sure, the list of different parts is massive, but exhaust, bumper, wheels, manifold, cat, cat/mani gasket...
Sorry I know this is extremely petty. I'll go away now...
Your ECU will run a "closed loop system." This means that it takes a "best guess" at the amount of fuel to inject given the amount of air ingested. It then looks at the value given by the o2 (aka "lambda") sensor and works out a "lambda value" from your exhaust gases to see whether there was too...
Here comes the first bit of "that £12 is definitely worth it for the money you save" advice :p
You want to get yourself a 2005 Skoda Fabia VRS splitter. Looks virtually identical to the original, but flat instead of rounded. Nearly a perfect fit, you just need to cut about 3" off of the end...
Oh right, ignoring user settings is the entire point lol! I was rather hoping it was just a side effect and that it actually did something useful xD
Thanks for the response!
I stand massively corrected on the value of Evo Recaros, seems I've only seen day-dreaming asking prices then!
Bear in mind those links were mostly horrible colours & the non tilting Evo 5/6 variant (though feel free to correct me once again if need be)
Reclining non-leather recaros & subframes ready to go straight into a Clio seem quite a safe £600 on their own.
Whereas a 172 that's £600/£700 more than the next one starts to sound a tad far faetched IMO.
Likewise with your Turinis (really can't see from avatar, maybe Super Turismos etc)...
Reserviour inside a reserviour?
The brake fluid & fluid level sensor are inside a roughly 30mm "pot," but what's the purpose of having this inside a bigger reserviour?
Is there supposed to be fluid inside both parts or just down the middle?
Where are the min & max level indicators...
