I’ve had my Clio 172 , 11 years and the sensor hasn’t failed in that time .
It’ll more than likely be the wiring plug in the loom , there is a Renault replacement plug and sensor you can buy to overcome this issue , the terminals are gold plated I think .

If you have hydraulic setup , suck some out so it’s at half way level , so when it gets hot it won’t spill over . That’s what I did and it’s spot on .
EPAS for the long haul , as I’ve seen PAS pumps fail and take out the cam belt and say goodbye [emoji1309] to the engine .
That’s why I went EPAS
If it’s been run in another car , it’ll prob run straight away .
If it’s a brand new unit , the base map will need loading along with the firmware . Then it’s off to the mappers after that .

so I’m guessing you need to know what does what ?
I’ll see if I can find some generic diagrams to come up with some info .
Find the easiest point to disconnect the fuel line , find the fuel pump relay and bridge the contacts .
Voilà continues fuel pumping into your jerry can .
I’m also on the Me221 , can confirm the aftersales side is deff good , I posted on the FB page and had answers from admins within a few hours along with other users not necessarily Clio users to boot.

You need to check wires from the CTS to the ecu . Seems to me that the ecu isn’t getting the info .
That said - it’s detecting you pulling off the connector and activating the fail safe .
Make sure you’ve checked that the replacement CTS has the 3 pins to match the 3 wires , I’ve seen people...
I’m running an ME221 setup , uses the OE loom , not really what your looking for as your having loom issues .
The omex ecu’s & looms that I’ve fitted in the past , I’ve done omex ecu spliced in to OE loom and I’ve done Race Loom fitment also , and obviously the race loom is far easier to work...
