I've had a quick look round the loctite website at their threadlock varieties. The one they describe as "high temperature" is stable to 250 odd degrees, so that's useless where turbos are concerned.
OEM studs. hmm. Might have to email owen developments and ask them if they stock them. Owen are...
I've got 4 studs missing from my GT28RS 5 bolt exhaust flange. I can buy some stainless M8 studding and chop it into smaller studs to replace them.
How should I stop the studs working loose from the turbo??
Is there a loctite threadlock stable to 8 or 900degC? Is there a better way?
Any help...
I'd got some pie in the oven for you, it's humble flavour, perhaps you'd like to remove the egg from your face first.
It's a rally car ffs. It's running pectel ffs. have you any idea what a 2 piece AP brake setup costs ffs. Does hewland sequential mean anything to you ffs.

I don't see why an inner gaitor would be more unless the part is more expensive (which i doubt)
Valves should always be replaced with tyres. That's quite odd that they have "perished". Did you leave wonder wheels on them or something?
Doing a gaitor is quite easy. you just need to dismantle...
Don't confuse braking power with servo-assistance. The 172 is thankfully not to heavily over-assisted, but if you drive something like a Gallardo (everyday mate;)) then you realise how nice it is to have less assistance. A lot of modern cars have ridiculously sharp brakes with a Lot of...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
hope you get this sorted before your track day mate. Must be really frustrating. It's such a shame it's not as easy as the F7* 'buy a ph1 ecu' job.
It's entirely down to how it's been treated. Cars from london end up doing sod all miles but having hard lives.
Proper servicing rules give time and mileage dependant service life. Eg 172 cambelt 72k or 5 years.
As long as it's been serviced well I'd say your on to a good thing (provided it's...
Best place to start would be to get in touch with someone like A5 salvage
they are renault specialists. But tbh, it's not going to be easy to find. Are you hoping for power gains?
19 wishbones are actually slightly different and push the wheel forward slightly, but yeah same track. I suspect the williams and valver racks (not including track rods) are the same length.
I did a little research with my MK1 rack, i'm using a female track rod (male track rod end) manual rack. I've looked through an outdated (but still relevant) renault parts database and the williams rack seems to have a different track rod. The track rods between the valver PAS racks and the...
Likely to be a top mount. Have a look for anything suspicous around the top of the strut. If the engine mount is new, it shouldnt be a problem i'd have thought.
Consider solid top mounts, some people have had sucess with special topmount washers iirc. Could also be excessive play in the lower...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
injector duration at tickover is going to be very very small. Best bet is surely to remove the rail and squirt some fuel everywhere (but I don't speak from experience).
