Probably. Honestly, you can get some really surprising quotes for these. My mate was 20, having lost his licence and got it back, all mods declared, £900, year after it was about £500.

edit: jord, I had a look at the track rods over the weekend and your right that the PAS rack and the manual rack have exactly the same track rods. Still couldn't work out how to get them off though. maybe i'm being a bit special

How much bumper are you going to have to remove? I fitted my intercooler in basically the same place and was pretty shocked how much of the bumper had to go.
could be done with sheet, but the OEM is ribbed for strength. If you want a 182 system, that's the way to do it. Don't mess about with KTECs nasty looking rep system (no offence to ktec, it's the only solution possible).
The cut-out is fairly tight. I'm banking on not a lot of engine movement, and I'm considering VF engineering mounts to replace the VAG ones.
The gearbox oil drain on the other side is currently sat on the subframe, and I've had to remove the N/S bolt. I'm going to have to take a slight nick out...
I remember an F3R was on the market a few years ago on ebay. Thats well worthwhile. The F3P modified for use in the older formula renaults.

I'm trying to get my hands on a drive belt (aux belt, alternator belt whatever. I'm not running the PAS pump so it's custom length
I went to halfords yesterday, but they said they can't search their database on length. I even had to point out to them the code system of the belts they already...
No-one seems to give a straight answer about the cup racks. There was a thread on wc.co.uk ages ago about them, people eventually decided that the cup rack was just the manual rack off the 1.4 - it'd be interesting to know if they actually existed and were shorter.
