the main difference between them is the megane runs a different ignition setup without a distributor.
If you have the whole car, I'd literally try and transplant everything. Try and work out what it needs to get the immobiliser working or get the ECU unlocked.
Edit: ^Pic fail, cummon.
Jees, was he alright? They arent exactly NCAP 5 star cars.....
My mate who wants one, his dad used to have one. Ended up selling it because it was just too brutal and he couldnt keep the back end in check on the road.
I say moar talent required :D
If you need an oil that tolerates the heat better, then what you want is an oil cooler.
As for your oil useage, mine hasn't used a drop since i've owned it. It could be bottom end (crank seals) or if it smokes out the exhaust then it's valve stem seals. Personally I'd sort your engine out...
Think about this carefully.
a 1.8 16v is going to be the cheapest way to go for sure. even the best ones are around £200 and normally with a gearbox. But it's still only 137bhp. It's not a lot, especially in a MK2.
Williams engine would be a little better. bit more power, and more torque. In...
When was the timing belt done and who did it. Often if the renault timing tools are not used / it's not done right, it will go back together slightly out of time which can take power down dramatically (130ish bhp from someone iirc??)
The problems sound like a few things. The harsh vibration -...
Is it the injectors ONLY that limit the remap capabilities?
If you went for Meggy 225 injectors (not sure if they are bolt in) what's the next thing that would stop the power increase? is there a hard-programmed fuel cut in the ECU?
I've had contact with Bill. He seems to do really nice top mounted manifolds that are really too far out of my price range (quoted around £950). I've got tops of £600 to spend really. Top mounted may fit.....my only worry is the scuttle drainage in the middle may foul the turbo, and I don't...
Photobucket is "doing a little work right now, your pic will be back soon". So I'd check back in a bit :)
On a side note. I'm completely broke, but I do just have savings left for a manifold. Anyone got experience 20v manifolds? My options list has been shrunk down to this ugly looking thing...
first thing is first, you are going to need to know what flange is on the manifold and turbo atm. Apparently it's a pretty unique one, and you certinally won't be able to bolt on that R5 turbo (although it's about the right size). Not sure about the megane 225 turbo. Don't know if the flange...
But having said that. Omex plus fitting is alot more than a trip up to leeds for 1 or 2 days.
If your serious about ITBs though, then Omex would be a good way to go. GDI/omex have great support for it and it's always good to know there is other people running the same setup with great success.
1.2 16v D7F just done oil and coolant
2 bleed nipples. One on the hose into the heater matrix which is obvious and very close to the coolant bottle.
One tucked under the airbox where the top rad hose meets the thermostat housing on the right of the head. It's a small one, dust cap sized.
Got...
