Renault have been designing and building cars for 100 odd years. They recommend 98 RON. There are many people on here that hadnt even been born when the Renault 5 was released and whose only qualification is an A level is Sociology or such like. They will tell you that 95 RON is fine. :)

Dont ask them to give you a full tank. I was given a full tank full - of bleedin 95 RON...

Whats the performance of the 182 like compared to the Roadster? Forget manufacturers figures, how do you find it?

Yeah CTR is probably the middle ground - or some would say its even better than the Clio. On Toyota build quality, my brothers Yaris makes a complete monkey out of my 182.

I think the 182 will be a lot more fun to drive. Its also more respected as a hot hatch and has a better image. Its also a lot cheaper. The T Sport is sure to be more comfortable, more reliable and of course the Toyota dealers show Renault up for the monkeys that they are. I dont buy this...

In reference to an earlier question, I am 99% certain I read in an issue of EVO that they always test their cars 2 up and with a full tank. In last Julys Fast Club 2004 test the 182 did it in 17.9 in the wet. That was 2 up.

Hmm EVO got 17.5 out of the 182 but thats two up and with a full tank of fuel. Get rid of the passenger (-75kg) and most of the fuel (-30kg) and I wonder how quick it is then? Thats one hell of a weight saving.

Checked under the bonnet to make sure a pipe hasnt come loose and detached from the air filter box or something? I remember on my second 1.2 I looked under the bonnet when it was a couple of weeks old and a black plastic pipe thing had come unplugged. Too long ago to remember exactly what it was.

You sure its smoke? I took mine up to the red line the other day when it was pretty cold outside and I looked in the mirror to see plumes of condensation from the exhausts streaming up over the rear window. Some strange aerodynamique effect.
