So ended up buying a MacBook air and an airport to replace my wife's laptop. Will prob wait for the new iMacs now, but have to say I already love macs:)

Yeah I've heard the rumours about them releasing a new model towards the end of October

Now I'm doing loads of photography / photoshop, I've been investigating moving away from Microsoft and going the apple route. Just wanted to know people's thoughts on the iMac as an every day pc / workhorse. TIA

I use a lastolite softbox when I've done portrait stuff in the past. Gives a nicer light with the speedlight than using it on top of the camera.

Have a look at the p2pe (point to point encryption) documents. https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/security_standards/documents.php?association=P2PE If your card machine supports the new standard, then you maybe able to mitigate the issue that way.

I have that CPU. Runs sweet as a nut @ 4.5 with minimal voltage tweaking.
