Just did my budget attempt, thought I had more 476 than I actually did. Great idea though never even thought of it before, just mashed what was left up with some 845.
Pics in spoiler.
Without looking into this properly yet, could I mix whats left of my 476 colli with 845 ? I hate the way its in a bottle so would be great to combine the 2 and have it in a tin?
Good tyres on rear, going to pick up an OEM set after I've done the gear box.
Is there a test for new shocks before fitted? I read a while back someone had to swap a new one because the damper Didnt compress back out?
Yeah, well I thought seeing as Sachs make the trophy suspension they would be alright! (for front or back) but DannyR says OEM only...
I might be tempted to get a set for the rears and test them out at that price, just out of interest why OEM only? just the done thing?
I ment the shocks in the link are made by Sachs, I thought It could be the same company who make the Trophy suspension?
I didnt mean the shocks in the link ARE the trophy suspension?
Just thinking of future jobs I would like to get done. Theres one corner I freqeuntly turn left into and the back of the car feels like its skipping, I would guess thats the rear shocks?
Wests renaults price says £45.05 each for OEM, Ebay is £86.90 delivered for the pair, again OEM.
But just...
Yeah I'm hoping it all goes well when I get round to doing the job, I expect lots of swearing but hopefully I'll get there.
Yeah I think its on the original so the refurbed box, clutch kit and cable should make things much better after the change.
Cracking work!
What problems did you have when removing the sub frame? spinning bolts? Makes me more nervous for when I do my box change... On my drive :dapprove:
Revised clutch cable looks beefy. Hoping it will make my clutch feel lighter after its changed too.
Was much cheaper than I thought using my local rep, took him a while to do a local visit but got Tardis and an empty spray bottle for now which was under 20 quid.
Might pick up some G101 next time.
Aerosols I will get next time are : Brisk, dash dandy, berry blast and something else I cant...
My drivers seat has developed a squeak in the last few months, I've tried to get under the seat and see what's causing it, sprayed a bit of silicone grease at a few points but it still remains.
Anyone know what's actually making the noise if they've experienced it ?
I think I'm going to have...
I may be wrong but for the sub frame off I think Fred said leave the pinch bolt alone, you need to remove the 4 bolts holding the steering rack in place, plus the fiddly heatshield bolt and then the subframe can drop leaving the rack in place?
How did you get the rear bolts out with the clips...
Belts have been done mate, Unless someone tells be before hand Ill look under the car and see if there's an access hole whilst im removing the seat bolts.
Sub frame down will be my first attempt, If not Ill try taking the box alone out the top with budgies method.
The whole engine out seems...
Without getting under the car I can't be 100% sure, but are these the rear sub bolts?
I've greased them on the outside, is there any access holes when underneath the car so I can spray the Insides?
Will be under the car In the week to remove the drivers front seat, hoping to kill 2 birds with...
Mine started whining in neutral, only noticed it with the music off listening to my ktec induction when I first got it, it now whines when going very slow or in high gear at about 30-40, sort of like a whooping gearbox whine.
Its the differential bearings I think, when I first noticed it it...
Some nice parts being added ! I like the rear spacers, I was tempted to try and get some but holding back for gearbox costs as Ive got the same problem as you.
Do you mind me asking where you got the clutch kit? Euro car parts? or did you find somewhere cheaper?
