Bought the black laser cut ones off ebay in the end, Look to be well made.. Hopefully will fit over the hub ring snugly so the whole set up is secure then ill see if it stops the rubbing and also decide if im happy to run them..
Cheers.
Im sticking with 5mm. not hubcentric but there will still be the hub ring to support the wheel and the bolts should be fine.
Sport id be looking at 10-15mm hubcentrics then if 20mm would be too much... (was thinking non sport wise..) i guess as said 20mm would be way to much?
I have just ordered 5mm spacers, With intent to use standard bolts.
However have had different opinions that they will be fine with standard bolts as long as its not more than 5mm etc.
If you have the money go hubcentric with extended bolts and i'd say 15-20mm all round.
Sounds good, And your happy to leave the 5mm spacers on with standard bolts for everyday driving?
I cant see the 5mm's on standard bolts going wrong.. But stranger things have happened.
Top work James.. The clutch was a massive self achievement...
Alloys are looking good, Mine was Rover steel grey.. A fair bit lighter.. Quite like yours a bit darker as well too..
I know you've been helping me with the spacer questions, But i cant remember if Iv'e asked you what spacers your...
Yeah i understand what your saying, I was having a look today. They are not very long as it is.. Well the spacers have cost me £20... I will fit them and see if it solves the problem noise wise front or back temporarily..
I dont need the spacers as there is enough clearance, Its just there is...
That does look nice, Ive narrowed the noise down to the rears rubbing on the shock covers... I have 5mm spacers coming soon..
Should i not use them?
Surely 5mm will be fine?
I dont really want to spend 200 For spacing all round, Suppose i could look for second hand.. Just want to get this...
Cheers lads, Only want a sport bumper and possibly a stealth/recessed exhaust and id be happy.
Need to sort out this bloody noise, Spacers should be delivered soon.
Not sure if anyone cares but i want opinions so ill keep yabbering on...
Had the tracking checked today after loweing, Nice bloke said it was all good and didnt charge...
Have 5mm spacers coming for the front.. But im wondering how much to space the back?
Im thinking 10-15mm hubcentric...
Cheers, Ill get those ordered up tomorrow, Im stumped as to if its front or back making the noise, Probably both !
Ill try these first then go from there...
Is it 4x100 ill be searching for.. for a hubcentric kit?
Yeah i think your right, Should be fine, Im pretty sure its the rears now, Although the fronts do need spacing.. I think i might try the 5mm's on the rear to see if it stops the noise..
If it proves me right, I might get a set of 15cm hubcentric spacers (propper kit) for the rears and then use...
Think you've seen my thread mate, Rover steel grey is quite light but i still love it.
Stone grey is a bit darker.
Ford anthracite is a lot dark... Cant remember its full name is a nice anthracite colour imo.
Yeah flat head screwdriver to slightly prise the plastic housing out above your head, then pull i out.. Should all fall out with wires attached to each part, Find the black tube that houses the small fan, Unclip that from the grey main housing, And unclip it from the wiring loom..
Unclip the...
For my non sport, Two bolts, One each archliner, Was a flap where i could just about get a ratchet with a extension on to unbolt.
Then the grille, Flathead scredriver to pop two plastic rivets out.
Then a few torx screws along the bottom and with a bit of a jiggle it was off.
I see what you mean mate yeah, Hubcentric rest on the hub so its easy to line up right?
Im now thinking the noise is from the shock covers on the back ! the fronts was a small line in the chalk, almost no touching at all as i can get my finger in there..
However the back shock covers had some...
Id rather spend a few more quid and get a kit with bolts if thats needed, With the eibach susp the ride is harder imo... And if the bolts aren't in far enough i could see my wheels going walk abouts !
Opinions ? Or places i can get the spacers please?
I could get away without them i would...
Rear wheels have been switched round now, Clipped the little moulding spikes off and it seems to have got better. Still think i need spacers on the front..
But i think the brushing of the spikes was causing some of the noise seeing as it is a tight fit.
Ebay 5mm spacers ok? Or can some one...
Oh.. :o
I thought the v pattern pushed out, But thinking about it now yes they are ! ha
The front left tyre is MOUNTED on the wrong way round.. Will this be ok? Im wondering is its also contributing to the slight noise.
Will get those changed round tonight...
The rears arent rubbing on...
