On mine I took the really flakey stuff off, leaving as much on the ends where the bushes go and then hammerited the rest.
New bushes never do any harm. The inners are a pig to change if you don't have the subframe off or dropped down a fair way. You will notice a difference when it's all done...
Differences in the looms will be with/without electric heated mirrors and the mirror switch will be the other way around in some cars (swapping plugs around rectifies)
Should be fine other than that :)
Chucked one of these the other day!
Immobiliser. Have a search. Likely to be the problem. Ours does the same, solid red light and after a few turns on and off it works.
We'll the ECH/UCH kit
I'm not particularly hot on PCs but there are some very good value PCs on ebay which are relatively custom built to your needs. You can choose the monitor, OS, ram, HDD etc.
If you hibernate you also won't have to wait for it to boot up. Large solid state is pretty expensive still. Big RAM and...
If it was an immobiliser issue you wouldn't have been able to start it at all.
Battery light will be on if the car isn't running. In the video you can hear the engine turning and then when it's at compression is doesn't have enough juice to turn it over more.
Sounds like it just needs a new...

the whine is the throttle body
What lights are showing on the dash? I'm pretty sure I can head the climate control moving the recirculation flap.
Does the immobiliser light go out/stay on solid or flash?

The squib is different for models with and without cruise control. It doesn't have a computer so you cannot program it. The easiest way to tell if you have the correct squib is to take off the air bag. Disconnect the battery, on the back of the steering wheel you'll see 2 clips, push...
as above, nothing. You'll only be reducing it's value if you play with it.
It looks immaculate now and you should keep it that way :) It's a very nice colour. Painting bits and adding stuff that isn't standard isn't worth it.
Can't wait to see the video. I was surprised at how the decat didn't seem to make Alex's black one much if any louder.
Christ I'm surprised you got the cat out without removing the driveshaft, must have been extremely tight then! I used to love my old VW which had the manifold on the front...
Re: DCI 65 pov spec commuter OEM+
@HMS Derv Destroyer I think the bearings are only used on the sport and a couple of other models. J&R are a great company, used them for loads of bits.
@Daz. Thanks buddy, not sure if it'll have much else done now for a while.
@STCCEdition Cheers mate...
Re: DCI 65 pov spec commuter OEM+
Yeah but there's a bearing on the shaft at the join ya see. 1*2 just bolts to block. Cup has no mid joint :) just like standard dci shaft. All hunky doory now. Can't wait to drive to uni tomorrow.
Re: DCI 65 pov spec commuter OEM+
99% finito now.
today I filled the gearbox oil up. And did all the above jobs.
had to replace the NSF wheel bearing as it sounded horrible. Garage couldn't get it out even with their press and heat and a big big hammer. I ended up having to use the trusty new...
It's really very easy to fit as the instructions supplied by pms are very good. The blanking plate I made from a thick take away tub, it really isn't engineered and doesn't need to be. As above though you look a serious amount of stuff. You can just change the idler but a second hand pms kit is...
Just done my widetrack conversion. It was funny that my car registered me as going 70 when I was doing just under 40. Obviously the abs is set up for 26 tooth rings but the sport gear has 44.
I've got a clone clip. Can I change a setting in the abs module to read this higher number of abs teeth...
Just so there is a definitive answer somewhere on the forum.
The rear bearings are the same for all mk2 clios whether drum or disc. The only differences are what comes in the kit, checked this out with ECP today. The main parts you need though are the circlip and bearing which are the same.
At...
Re: DCI 65 pov spec commuter OEM+
IT'S FINALLY FINISHED (sort of)
So my rear wheel bearings didn't turn up today in the post which I was less than happy about. Car was sitting like this and every time I made a tea I could see it looking sorry for it's self.
@AlexW I checked the ABS plugs and...
