Its used for the head unit to adjust the volume (if its acticvated etc) on the stereo ie the car goes faster the stereo get loader.
On the back of the dabboard there a few connectors the black wire on the black connector block is the speedo signal.

Nick hill I think sells an induction kit for the Mk1 which fits where the washer bottle is and has a remote washer just like the race cars its the most efficinet I belive but not...
Yes but don't IMo get a Renault ofical or nothing there some realy usless aftermarket bits out there be safe and spend the extra few quid on a part designed and tested fit for purpose IMO.

Engine mounts are simple use the 1.1 night and day from memory wiring simple as its all simple electrics plus using a Mk1 you have the advantage of the cars wiring being simple.
GDi did the transplant on Bruns car a few years back maybe...

There a load of choice of cams though.
Cams choice is down to prefercne and often who is fitting them as GDI use one type of cam yozzasport use another etc

Chnagine the clutch ins't to bad a job 1 hour tops more likly 40 mis or so.
Use only a proper renault clutch cable if yor going to replace it there only cheap £15 or so.
You can brand spaners for £13k so asking £500 less for a user car? Ok so you have a few other bits but that means not much.

Shake the shafts see if there any play in the up and down and forward and aft also check the gaiters arn't leaking.

I forget how that sensor works wheather its unpluged and things its hot or cold but regardless if the fan works when you disconnect it and the temp gauage in the car sworking there no issues the fan doens't always have to come on only if its hot.
