    Dilema!!

    Err £210 is a fair old bit personaly get the 1.2 O and yep your a risky driver at your age etc if I were an insurers I'd not cover you. WHy do you think its unfair they won't cover you. PS not decaliring modification is stupid and illegal you might as well not bother insuring it.

    Your using second hand tyres is probably the problem I'd never use them IMO theres to many damaged tyres and wheels out there. They could be damaged.

    a few dci questions!

    The box is the same as the 100 box so yes its weak and yes it can fail but its not garenteed but even stock power can kill them with hard use. There not a good box realy. Stock HP is the only safe level there always risks. Few owners on here have Mk3's dci so no point answering theads...

    Renault Clio Bonnet

    All the Mk2 2 bonnets are the same V6/1.2/dci etc Renault arn't cheap. You can get copy cat aprts but there often badyl IMO finished. Also try breakers yards unfortunatly though most clios have the fronts smashed in.

    Yep shocks do wear a lot depending on loads of factors its aming how just a refesh helps few people even listen though and IMO stock is the better replacment shock.

    Sounds more like the cambelt hasn't been done (should have ben done over a year ago) and now its snapped wrecking the engine. Shows how well the cars been serviced.

    The ECU and the location of the wires does cause loads of issues. Find out the fault codes. There no idle control on the 1.2 its all via the throttle body check and clean that.

    Personaly either minimum of FK coilovers at £420 or so new or stock setup.

    I'd bet your UCH is wet check all the fuses etc though and for loose wires etc.

    There a few posible bits the racks can fail but bottom arms and stearing ends are the first point of call.
