Cups are a bit quicker assuming the same good engine etc 172 cup is about the quickers or should be there good and bad ones.
Its should be chnaged the old rules said it wasn't but there were to many failures and it became a part of the service rules.
Few dealers are aware of the chnage.
Get it done else it breaks and when it does 99.9% of the time it takes out the cambelt and your lookiung least £1k on a good...
There few race series where diesel can enter. Lemans is one so if thats right diesel is faster.

Why err thats the price to make them and everyone make a profit there not out to sell millions of 182 wheels to people as a business parts is there to supply parts and sort them for accident damage etc more. There not profeshional companies for selling cheap parts.

Decat is good as stock is quite restricting plus intake manifoild can be poor on some cars.
A good service as with all cars helps.
No need to bother with an air filter until you want to realy spend the money or want noise.

Re the original poster Try cleaning the throttle body no need to always get a new body thats the expensive warently etc fix.
How much £ have you got.
Fixing those problem doens't sound anything worrying new driveshaft/arb/wishbone etc maybe for the knokcing. Clutch isn't that difficult not that cheap not nothing scary.
Dieing could be a number of thngs when does it die?
Milage wouldn't both me at all regardless of how long your going to keep it.
Get some quotes though IMO stick a fake DOB in see what effect it has on prices.
