It's an Actron, not really a generic one, dont know the model but do know that the cheaper actrons dont have live data readings.
I'm not confusing the readings, actually I've stated before that the MAP reading comes in KPa, there's no value for MAP sensor voltage. And the thing about the...
Well my main issue is not the throttle value (66%), the issue is the engine load going from 0 to 100%, nothing in between. How is engine load calculated? I thought it used the MAP sensor, but something is surely wrong if I'm only getting these 2 values.
Also, when I hook up the reader to the...
So I hooked up my 172 to a live data scanner to check my lambdas (I ran a spark plug non-fouler in 2nd lambda and wanted to make sure I was getting the right readings to fool the ecu, it worked BTW).
Anyway, as I was scrolling through the live data, I noticed that the engine load at idle was...
I found this kit from engine dynamics, kinda answers my question. Anyone tried it?

thing is, the tensioner alone is over 250 quid here. Reno won't sell the complete kit, just the parts. I might end up getting it shipped from the UK or something.
So, how did the tensioner end up bent anyway?
Hi mates. I noticed that my ph2 172's aux tensioner (the one with the big spring, PITA to change) is bent towards the back of the engine, but not enough to rub against the aux belt yet. Just last month I took the car to a specialist to get the cambelt done, and noticed the bent tensioner a...
hope it gets sorted. You may not need the whole head redone, depending on how bad the damage was you might get away with new valves and milling/testing the old head.
lol @ most things being said about the price... Simply put, if you were to manufacture the exact same parts in the UK, the price would skyrocket simply because of the cost of labour and exchange rates. What's the wage for skilled labour in the UK right now??? And everyone would be thinking how...
The chap who sold you the car disconnected the lamda (oxygen) sensor(s). Your cat should have a hole where the sensor screwed in. I'd start by that spot, and then work the way back towards the engine till you find the cables tucked away.
I removed the cat on my 172 but left the lamdas in...
So i changed the PAS return line and the whining has been reduced, but it;s still there. Been reading about the options:
- Remove PAS
- Electric PAS
But... is there a better pump available for the 1X2???? I mean, a lot of other old cars dont ever whine!
lol.. you at least have someone with the knowledge to rebuild the dampers. These trophies (despite what you've been told by renault) seem to have shipped worldwide. At least they did sell in Mexico, same numbered scheme as in the uk.
I would guess that it depends on how bad the oil has been mixing up with the coolant, but I'd change the oil asap!
The gearbox feeling heavy is probably the engine feeling heavy through the trasmission. Unless you can feel the transmission heavy when the clutch is disengaged (meaning foot down...
How did you fit the guard??? Where I live all non-RS clios came equipped with the metal sump guard, so naturally I went to the dealer's but they told me that the metal guard wouldnt fit the 1*2.
get a sponge with lots of foamy water, place the foam here and there, in the places where you feel the air coming from. You'll get big bubbles in any place that has an air leak. Kinda like what you do when you are working with a gas line (LP or natural, as in stove or furnace).
upper gearbox mount, as above. Had the same knocking, changed the dognbone first, kept knocking, changed the gearbox mount, problem solved. The old mount was noticeably more flexible than the brand new mount.
When you say stock ignition leads you mean the same ones that your car left the factory with? Same thing happened with mine.
Ended up using a set from a VW VR6, made by Beru. Perfect fit!
