The sound of overfueling?

  172DD Cup
my car feels and sounds like its overfueling. the exhaust has got a bit of a deeper tone to it and you can feel its not really willing to stretch its legs. it still goes quick, but its just not going like it should.

i changed the upstream lambda about a week ago and its been great except for the last couple of days.

am returning around 37mpg on a and b road driving (it went up about 3mpg from 34mpg after changing the lambda)

any ideas?

If its overfueling badly you will be able to smell it, unburnt fuel will go into the cat and burn in there and the smell is obvious.. could also check the exhaust tip for alot if sut, if thats what ud call it

I've got an obd reader that measures coolant temperature against other parameters, ill plug it in and go for a drive, will I see fluctuation or generally cold readings?

Thermostat is new ish but not a Renault part

Just realised I lied about the thermostat. The one I ordered didn't turn up in time so its got an old one in. Temperature readings from the ecu hover around 83-84 is that right?

well, i fitted a new renault gasket with the original thermostat in lieu of not receiving the thermostat i ordered, so at least i can re-use the gasket. but it hasn't done it since, only on the drive home on friday
