External temperature sensor - if it goes...

This came up in another thread yesterday - but how do you know when your shocks are shot? Noisy? Can you tell by looking at them? Wheels fall off? What?
Clios are amongst some good company. This is the Easytrack all-time list of cars that have attended their trackdays. Order is based on how many trackdays each model has actually done.

From Autoexpress:
There may have been a tide of new models from Renault in recent months, but the floodgates havent shut yet. The all-new Clio is getting ready to make waves, and exclusive pictures in the current issue of Auto Express magazine show that not only will there be a conventional...
Id never seen these before I spotted a set today. Anyone know any online dealers doing Lenso wheels? Fancy this RS5 model:

OK, how stupid do I feel? I bought some of those alloy valve caps last summer. Thought Id check the tyres today seeing as its nice and sunny for once. Cant get the rear valve caps off at all!
Tried holding the valve with pliers and twisting the cap with a spanner - just wrecks the rubber on...
Im getting a superchip done soon (after the Midland RR day). For an extra £50 or so I can get a custom map setup on a rolling road. Relevant mods are Magnex cat-back and PiperX panel filter. Is it worth the extra to get a custom map?
Anyone know of any breakers that might have a Megane cabriolet? I need an interior bit for ours (just the plastic courtesy light surround) - Renault want £151 + VAT for it!

Remember the story of Steve Carter whos M3 broke down after a trackday & BMW refused to cover the repairs? BMW have climbed down. The following is clipped from Steve Carters post on the Easytrack forum:
Finally got a result in my dispute with BMW. Having piled the pressure on with press and...

Easytrack are talking about trying out a sprint & trackday combo next season. The format would probably be a morning on the track - normal trackday stuff, then a sprint competition in the afternoon. This is probably about the closest we will ever get to a competitive trackday - it sounds...

Here are some more pics of the event at Brands Hatch today, along with a few snaps taken at the meal / booze up / ice-cream eating competition that a few of us had at the Beefeater last night.

Actually W A Lewis Telford / Shrewsbury, but wouldnt fit in the title box..
OK Ive bought a few cars from these guys and Ive always found them to be helpful, but they really surpassed themselves this morning. I had to take the car in for a sh*tguard to be replaced - it had come adrift...

This from the Autoexpress website:
Youve heard of Renaults catchphrase Va Va Voom... well heres a clever Clio MPV with lots of Va Va Room! Hot on the heels of the Ford Fusion and Vauxhall Meriva comes Renaults assault on the mini-MPV market, and - as weve come to expect from the French company...

Im interested in getting this done, so heres my question. I understand that there are sensors on a Cat that send information to the ECU (Lambda???). What happens to these when the cat is replaced with a length of drainpipe? Or is there more to a de-cat pipe than I thought?
