We'll wait for the 5th Gear test but I doubt whether their testing is very thorough, and will probably just be some lame, oversimplified visual demonstration that ends up proving nothing.
Premium fuels may be overpriced (fuel companies have seen that there is a 'passionate owners' market that...
So you don't feel a difference..........apart from it feels smoother up the rev range? But that is a difference, an improvement some might say!
Don't necessarily expect instantaneous power gains (depending on what you drive), however I bet an engine will be cleaner internally and more...
Happened to mine too after 2days of ownership - I was a bit gutted! The plastic "stain" was still on the exhaust manifold when I sold the car 3 years later, but the smell had gone luckily!
Here's some to show you how it can look in different lights. I really don't think you will bore of Inferno - a different colour everyday! The one with the Superleggara's is someone else from here, but is probably the best Inferno picture I have ever seen.
Inferno or liquid yellow for me!
Yeah, between about 4250 and 5250 the 172 seems and produce more torque and consequently power. It's funny actually because I always find my 182 feels a bit flat in that part of the rev range while you're waiting for the cam timing to change, so maybe the 182 manifold isn't as well suited there...
I drove a 1.2 16v Clio yesterday and that felt ridiculously slow, so I can't imagine what the 8v must be like. You have to cane it throught the gears to make it move and cornering, as mentioned, is a pathetic experience.
I was pleasantly surprised that it had the auto headlights and...
Yeah it's just the torque and power will be dropping after 6550, so I wonder whether it's worth holding until 7800. Apart from the change from 1st-2nd you don't drop below the 5250 "kick" anyway if you change at the standard limiter.
It all depends on the torque curve and whether they manage...
The thing I don't understand about this is that in the reviews I read the limiter had been raised to 7800, yet peak power is produced at 6550 or there abouts. what's the point of that extra revving?
Considered it but I don't think they'd suit to be honest. I'm sure I've seen a picture of a cup on here with some trimmed down flaps (oo er!) and it looked alright. They'd have to be black and not too big on mine!
Yes but it's BBR's rolling road and there is no impartial third party to verify these claims. Surely, if someone has this work done, and their BHP turns out to be much lower, then Morego are going to have problems.
^^^yes, but they didn't drive one without the camshaft NickN182.
Sounds too good to be true I reckon, what with the experiences that GDI/AW/Yozzasport have had with tuning that particular engine.
Someone should e-mail them, perhaps get them on the forum, so we can get some questions and...
I really lose the will to clean my car when the weather gets bad. 5 mins driving down any road round here and it's covered in s**t again much to my annoyance. Best not to let it get too caked on though I suppose.............
I thought as soon as you start bending the roof pillars it's pretty terminal - and that C-pillar looks mangled.
Any damage to the B-pillar at all? I'm sorry to say, but I think it would take a lot of work to get it back to the way it was.
1.1 - 49bhp (beast)
1.2 - 60bhp
1.4 - 80bhp
1.8 8v - 95bhp (although I think they may have done a more powerful revised version?)
1.8 16v - 137bhp (that's more like it)
All according to Mr Haynes.
The engine looks a little beefier with the cover on IMO, and pretty smart when they're colour coded. They must've saved a lot of weight by not putting them on the cup, lol!
So, who thinks I would have a problem with a 25-30mm drop on, say, Leda coilovers, considering I'm experiencing no rubbing at standard ride height, even with passengers in the back?
It looks good from the front but I'm sorry, I think the rest of it looks pretty naff!
I think you can go too far with colour coding, yes, I'm talking about the wiper blades and shiny tacky looking red interior bits. It would look better with 16v rear arches - but a twin DTM? Rancid.
They're 16's with 205/45 tyres, so the same as standard. Only difference as already said is they're an et37 offset which has widened the track slightly.
The Inferno comes out quite well on your camera phone Aust1n! Felt a bit guilty letting your mate do all the work as you can see in the pic, but those burgers weren't going to eat themselves!
As you say, they look even better in the metal to be fair - I'll have to come to a meet or two! They...
Must admit I'm very tempted, I would only really want a 25-30mm drop max though (Surely this wouldn't cause rubbing, especially if the suspension was stiffer? More interested in the handling than the look to be honest.
