Yes you will always have problems and dont fool your self that you wont, but if you get a well looked after one it wont give you much trouble.
I had a couple of problems with my 172 but they are just like any car regarding problems.
If you can somehow re-enforce those welds, then try to. I replaced all my exhaust mounts and tried giving the system more support just to take abit of stress off the manifold. But its difficult to stop warping and expansion.
Some manifolds have a cut on the mating face of the manifold to allow...
Looking good.
From experience you are going to have sooo many problems with the manifold. I garentee those welds will crack after time. Log type manifold is better but even these seem to warp and crack.
Fuel Duty
Fuel Duty will increase by two pence per litre on 1 September 2009 and by 1 pence per litre in real terms each year from 2010 to 2013 – saving two million tonnes of CO2 (MtCO2) per year by 2013–14

Re: Valver Track Car Project Thread
The dude who I bought my valver from (and hand build the turbo conversion) said dont run fully syn and use 10/40W.
At a guess your oil was too thin to begin with, then as it reached the high 140's 150's became to thin for the poor old valver engine...
Re: Valver Track Car Project Thread
150 is very high for extended periods of time especially for an old valver engine or at least its not recommended. Oil can fail at high temps. Just out of interest what oil were you using? Valver engines are very sensitive when it comes to oil, interms of a...
Still not a massive fan on the looks of a 197 and the new face lift is still as controversal. Can't comment on how they drive as never driven one.
I will say one thing and that is they are QUICKER round a track than ANY 1*2. 197's rape on handling and brakes, and this is from a personal...
As I recall the biggest restriction on the RS clio air in take is the 90 degree bend and not the airbox/filter.
A cup racer setup has a relocated battery and straight as possible intake pipe from the passenger front head light.
You can just about see here:
Or there is also the Ghetto...
Dont know why everyone bangs on about air filters all the time. The best setup in the world would only see 2-3 bhp gain which is nothing.
Just wang a quality panel filter in there and a decent CAF.
