Been on o2 for about 4 weeks now after being on sh*tty orange bb.
Always had issues with broadband over my line and im a far way from the exchange (4km or so). Still got issues with it but o2 support have been fantasic, call centre is based in Scotland instead of the usual India and all calls...
We had a tile blew of a shop roof and hit our car last year, their insurance paid up for that.
I'd get a load of photos of every angle first, maybe even video of the area on your phone or camera. If they still deny its their fault the simply let your solicitors know.
Sorry, just seen this thread with an updated list ..

Who is reliable for next day delivery ? i.e for tomorrow
Rich, is this list still what you would advise ? (are there any newer/better products available in each category). Who would be best for next day delivery for ordering ?
Thanks in advance!
I've had 3.4mb max on my line on an 'upto 8mb' line. However, this was with Orange and before i cancelled it had dropping to 1.0mb all the time.
I assummed that ADSL2+ would boost the signal somehow thus giving me a faster speed based on a maximum of 24mb. Obviously this is wrong so I either...
Just rang them, apparently on the 24mb unlimited package I will get a maximum download speed of 2mb - yes that says 2mb !. (4Km from the exchange). BT website says 3mb max on an 8mb line
I really thought on a 24mb ADSL2+ line I would get 10mb+
Dont you just love BT and their cabling :(...
This is interesting. Last year I nobbed them off because I was getting 3.5mb nearly all the time. Then for no reason at all it went to exactly 1mb like it had been capped or something ?? Been with ntl/virgin for 12 month now, not a single outage and the speed that I pay for all the time.
Cheers Daz. Same at the house, the wireless connection is going through 3 walls and is really poor, almost unusable.
My only concern is speed, because none of them seem to do what they say on the box. I guess my only option is to buy some kit and give it a go. The netgear HD kit is really...
I have found 2 products that seem to be good. The Devolo kit seems to get better ratings. Has anyone purchased any of this type of kit and if so whats your recommendations ? These will be used for streaming content to a 360 as a primary use.
These are the 2 kits ...
Devolo MicroLink dLAN...
I'm trying to get a group pac code from o2 at the moment. They are a f*king nightmare. We spend best part of £10k per annum and they treat us like this. Just shot themselves in the foot because i wont ever be going back to them! Utter sh*te!
Drive both, that will help you make up your mind. I drove both 3 years ago and bought a 182. The main factor for buying the 182 was that it was £4k cheaper brand new and full of bells and whistles. Had that 18 month but the shocking dealerships, annoying rattles and warrenty work ultimately did...
Could be worth looking on EBay in the US. I got a copy of brand new full retail sealed Windows 2003 Server for about 40% less than it is here. Ive had another retail version of something, could be adobe acrobat that was again 30-40% cheaper.
Obviously doing it this way could take some time...
I'm dual booting with 2 drives. I started with XP and then installed Vista, i had to unplug the XP drive because the first time around it messed with the boot files and XP wouldnt boot. Then i used the VistaBootPro software which worked a treat.
I use this on one of the cisco boxes here mate. There are some cisco specific features like netflow built in aswell. Worth a look ....

My mum has been waiting 8 weeks for her line in a new shop / new business. The previous occupants had 3 BT lines which they cancelled. Rang something like 10-15 times now, each time gets put on hold or passed from pillar to post or cut off.
She has had to have all the signs done now with just...
Agreed, I use the latest version of Norton Ghost all the time. Never had any problems and only this week restored my PC using the boot cd, very easy to use aswell.
Disable automatic windows updates. My PC (dual 3.6 ghz) ground to a hault last week due to wuauclt.exe, happened to a couple of pc's at work recently aswell and it was windows updates.
Have a read of this ....

I used the ati tool, seems very safe and you can create profiles. So if your not playing games just flip it back to stock.
Just tried this mate and its not playing. The files from the mac guys have an .AFM suffix. They will convert to PFM but the program errors if i try to convert to OTF opentype. Any ideas ?
Picked this up in my local PC World on Friday ... £29.99 :) ....
